The screen will show you which seats are currently available. As season ticket seats are being held back until Saturday, they are currently unavailable and will not be shown on the screen . This could be as much as 2000-3000 seats. By definition, the majority of season ticket holders are likely to live close enough to the ground to be able to pick up their tickets at their leisure, and still have 4 days to do this. Phone lines are jammed by people like myself who live a long way from the ground (Leicester) and picking up the tickets in person is impractical. So because there are so few seats available on the screens does not mean it is a sell out (yet), it just means that season ticket holders are avoing the queues and are taking their time picking up their tickets, which they are quite entitled to do! Could be more tickets available on Monday, but not many I suspect, if you are a season ticket holder, why would you not go to the biggest game of the eseason? I got through on the phone after 45 minutes this morning and asked about 2 tickets together. I was told that the only options were South Upper with restricted view, or South Lower. The restricted view was defined as 'if you are tall you won't see much' which suggest the back row of seats are on sale. The middle section of the lower appeared to be pretty much sold out except for the front rows, but got two seats on the back row to the side, which hopefully will have a decent view. If it is a similar view to the small away stand behind the goal at Burton (nice and local for me) that will be perfectly acceptable. Would be great to see the ground full. Up the Blues!

According to my records the 'official' attendance was 11,771, no doubt there was more in the ground than that!?

Any anoraks out there, it was West Spam friendly, Friday night game. 31-07-1998, All 3 ticket offices were rammed, we got stuffed 5-0. Announcer stated it was a record since the seating was put in and there was 3 or 4 deep standing in most of the aisles in the South and West stands. May be in the Longest pier programme for the 98 99 season. Help this is doing my head in.:nope:

Ok, Thanks Phil-in-Blue. So the Friendly is the biggest SEATED attendance( for those who sat down that night) the rest were finding their seats. :winking: OK meanwhile back to topic.

Because I live in the real world?

Can't help with the numbers, but I do remember it being a sell-out. Walked up to the ground expecting to be able to pay on the day, got told there were none left, then to top it all copped some stick off of West Ham fans for being a Sarfend mug who didn't have have a ticket.

I was talking in general and today's chain seemed relevant - the amount of times I see issues when collecting tickets on a match day, the fact that the 'Millwall' message remained on the phone system years, varying priority rulings, failed season cards on the barcode scanners, season ticket holders queuing for hours on end in the cold for big games, it's always a shocking experience.

Maybe I've been lucky (I've never had a season ticket so that's never been an issue!) but with the exception of the Man Utd game I've never had cause for any great complaints about the ticket office.

We're a Division Four club; therefore I don't have very high expectations.

I imagine the vast majority of season tickets holds will get their tickets before the game on Saturday - so could be very big queues then..

That's such a poor excuse in my eyes - the service is appalling. The club could have foreseen the demand and employed few extra bodies for a couple of weeks to man the phones, especially when you're paying 9p a minute. I spent over 5 hours in total on hold (over 3 days) - which costs more than the ticket itself. Thank god for work phones.

The club should be thankful that it doesnt get reported to Trading Standards.

Capacity stated on OS is 11427

South inc west family 2964
East 2878
West up to & inc W 2732
West X 599
North Y+Z 684
Rest of North 1562
Give or take a couple of seats
HOWEVER it isnt clear if the East fig includes boxes and directors box. I haven't had time to add up seats from the on line ticket system
OK, I have been sad enough to look at the online booking for East (I had already done this for West and South, and X, Y, Z earlier this year when we thought we might sell out.
https://ticketing.southend-united.co.uk/buy.aspx#fixture
· OS shows East as 2878
The online ticketing shows
· Black 616+42 unavailable+ a space big enough for 10 seats
· Green 574+17 unavailable space big enough for 16 seats
· Red 357+3 unavailable + a space 4 seats wide by 11 rows
· Yellow 303+ 3 unavailable+ rows I, H and G show as blank (apace for 69 seats)
· Blue- not on online ticketing

Summary
· OS-2878
· Seats1850
· Unavailable 65
· Spaces that I don’t understand 139 (the dug outs are here somewhere)
· Blue ???? (17 rows *?)
· Boxes ????

The OS number of 2878 looks reasonable based on the above, therefore the 11427 also seems reasonable . Maybe someone else can fill in the gaps

They are only selling south lower.... about an hour wait on the phones this morning....

If i were you start panicking.

Boxes are deff all sold out

Surely they are going to have to open the west corner areas
assume they are waiti g for any ST seats to come available and go first

If I spend anymore phuckin time on the phone trying to get tickets, my ST seats will become available. Two hours waiting today & still not done, that ticket office is beyond a joke.
