Our club as usual are a complete farce when it comes to tickets sales whether it is a standard league match, collection of tickets or a sell out!!!

After 55 minutes on hold this morning (From 9.30am onwards) I spoke to some stroppy teenager who seemed like it was a hardship to assist with my ticket booking. I was told (family enclosure aside) that there was no tickets available in the East, West or South Upper.

What a farce, this is 2014 not the stone age!!!!

Rant over, I just hope they have a better process for the next round when we host Arsenal!!!! :winking:

Did you try emailing? that worked perfectly well for me (and a couple of others on here).

It's easy to bag the club, but as demand such as this is only very occasional, I think it's acceptable that things are a little sketchy, rather than us always having a large crack team of telephonists waiting to pounce on the off chance we get a good cup draw.

Tweet from the club just now:

Southend United ‏@SUFCRootsHall 44s
We have currently sold around 6,000 home tickets for our FA Cup tie against Hull City on Saturday 25th January

Let's try and work it out.

6,000 sold (via club tweet)
1,750 allocation to Hull (estimate)
1,000 available seats (estimate)
900 STH seated unsold (if there are 3,000 STH & estimate 30% haven't bought tickets or have bought in another seat)
500 lost due to segregation between Hull fans and Southend fans (North stand minus Hull's allocation)

Total = 10,250

According to the OS we can hold around 10,593

East = 2,878 (inc. Director's box & Press box)
West = 3,337
North = 2,248
South Upper = 935

Family Area (South Lower + blocks Q&R in West) = 2,029
Estimate that blocks Q&R holds around 834 (West has 8 blocks in total).
Therefore, South Lower = 1,205

Why Is it clearly not true. ?
Hull have there allocation. If you add the season ticket holders, segregation and probally 1,000 to 2,000 left doted around the ground. It adds up!!

Yep I thnk your right

6k sold
2k Hull
About 1-1.5k season card holder yet to purchase

Leaves about 2k of which about 800 is segregation and restricted view.

Ridiculous. Using numbers to explain your point rather than just having a rant. No more of this please.

I was talking in general and today's chain seemed relevant - the amount of times I see issues when collecting tickets on a match day, the fact that the 'Millwall' message remained on the phone system years, varying priority rulings, failed season cards on the barcode scanners, season ticket holders queuing for hours on end in the cold for big games, it's always a shocking experience.

West Stand Blocks Q & R are not included in the West Stand total seats. They are in addition to the 3,337 West Stand seats.
So total capacity is 11,427.
As pointed out we do not usually sell back row of the South Upper or front row of South Lower. So not sure if they are being sold for the Hull game?

Love the way that we've now had two different communications via the club that the poster BTS dismisses as rubbish!

I'd imagine there's still plenty left in the South Lower, the view is so bad it's a last resort for everyone. Had no trouble getting two together in there earlier.

Well, for starters...if you sit right down the front, there's a dirty great wall in front of you (not ideal for nippers). Probably be ok in the middle or back. Close to the action in that goal...but poor view of the other one.

Just wondering how much of a restricted view the seats in the South Lower are?
Used to have a season ticket in there with my son when he was little. The first two rows are not good but other than that it's ok...just obviously difficult to see what's going on at the other end of the pitch. We sat there for 3 seasons, you can give corner takers plenty of abuse/encouragement if you're at one side.

So my tickets are block L right behind the goal, row B so I guess my views going to be ****?

Got two tickets together in front row South Upper (F) on Tuesday and was offered either those or else seats in the back row as the alternative.

Depends on your personal thoughts, loads of atmosphere and plenty of opportunity to either get behind our team or put theirs off if you're behind the goal. It's just a low viewpoint.

Based on the last couple of pages of comments season ticket holders will need to start buying tickets or face ridiculous queues on Saturday.

I thought the capacity at Roots Hall is 12,350!
