Always be cautious about anything on the web. Some is true, some is rubbish and some in-between. Always think about people's motives for posting. The only facts I know is we have planning permission for FF and RH. The training ground is finished. The grass needs to grow before it is ready. It is excellent. Ron has not paid the players which is wrong, wrong, wrong. The CEO and football staff and players are superb professionals (opinion). I have no idea how this will pan out and haven't voted
Full planning permission is unfortunately not granted at FF, not that will allow work to begin anyway. There's a few more hoops to jump through yet. It may even be a contributing factor in the hold up of bridging finance.

Unfortunately like a lot of things at the club, we aren't fed enough accurate and detailed information regularly to alleviate rumours/false info from being spread.

Transparency is one of the biggest things lacking at the club and has to change, fast.

Seems to me that there is lot to be said for entering into a retreat at this present moment in time. You can come out from isolation on March the 2nd to find out how many players we have left, what our results were and Indeed, if we still have a club to support? I was almost on my way when I remembered that I had to get my predictions in for Saturday.

I don`t know if it`s been queried before but do the PFA step in if players don`t receive their wages after a certain time ?
I can’t see anything on the net suggesting they do- regardless of league
Membership is £150 a year. Their accounts show a balance of £1.2 million so they don’t actually have a lot of cash.
They would have even less if they step in and pay wages.
Obviously I might be wrong, but everything I have read is on them stepping in and negotiating, not supplying finance

Ron seems to be on good terms with Anna Firth (or at least, she's willing to do what she can to help/be seen to help). I am sure if SBC were to blame for the delays, and he thought Anna could help cajole them, he'll have asked her to. There's no reason why that would have been done in public.

That said there's no harm in Southend residents writing to SBC Planning/their councillors to ask what's holding it up. Planning departments (and councils generally) are invariably understaffed and overworked at the moment and from experience a gentle poke can help.

Maybe The Echo could ask the council what the latest status is? It’s in the public interest after all.!

Interesting number that. The PFA also paid Gordon Taylor £1.2m a year- oh and plus a £700k bonus. Perhaps they would have twice as much cash if they focussed on the players first...

Why are we assuming SBC are at fault in this or incompetent? Planning officials will have a job to do, rules to follows and guidelines to work within. I don’t know any of the details but assume that whatever has been put forward by Ron hasn’t yet met whatever approvals are needed. If it’s sat with officers then it’s not even a political issue.
SBC gave the go ahead for training ground to be build anyway

Wasn't that Rochford District council?
Both council work together especially the plan is on both of their land. Just need the players (if we still have them on 2nd of march) and our management teams to move to new training ground, then the work will start.

Can't Ron and lb both be correct. Ron has denied anyone has put in a transfer request. LB has said players have submitted a request to terminate contract due to breach - they're different
