Hope your situation gets sorted, disgusting owner that needs lynching. We almost went pop before our owners came in it’s not nice.
Wasn't that because you p****d off a local businessman who pumped a large amount of coin into your club. When he withdrew his sponsorship you dropped out of the league

Same sort of thing some of our fans are doing to the likes of Tom and Stan

Good lad, blame the fans (again) for a few comments from a tiny minority of the fans whilst ignoring what Ron is doing (again)

Still, you have NEVER criticized Ron for late payment of staff wages or various court appearances etc.

Some may start to wonder why that may be?

SOUTHEND United players will head into Tuesday night's clash with Halifax Town still uncertain of when they will receive their wages.

The Shrimpers squad - who have yet to be paid for January - met with chairman Ron Martin on Monday.

But Echosport understands the underfire owner was unable to guarantee when salaries could be expected.

Amid the ongoing uncertainty, Blues boss Kevin Maher must prepare his side for tomorrow's encounter.

And he was again full of praise for his squad.
“There’s a lot of noise around the place and a lot of stuff coming out that we can’t control but the players have been very professional with how they go about their work,” said Maher.

“They work hard in training every day and we’ll be as prepared as we can be another tough game.”

Ron Martin has not replied to Echosport's request for a comment.

totally unacceptable RON MARTIN disgraceful way to treat your staff you should be ashamed of yourself how do you sleep at night knowing your staff have families to support and bills to pay , good luck to any of our players that can get away from roots hall with other clubs ,and who in there right mind would come to southend united in the future , with you at the helm ? my thoughts are with all the poor staff at my beloved football club ,

I fear it won’t be long until one or two of the lads move on and to be honest, who can blame them? They’ve been treated disgustingly by that crook.

It actually wouldn’t surprise me if eventually a few of them just simply refuse to play. They’ve all been professional up until this point but the longer they go without being paid whilst playing and risking injury etc, it’s not the maddest of things suggest that they’ll soon go on strike.

Forget Ron ****ing Martin for the moment…
We can never raise what’s needed for the tax bill BUT I’m sure we can raise money to at least help the non playing and playing staff.

Yes it’s only a potential short term fix but if it saves our squad from falling apart and helping non match day staff who are owed money then it’s something we should be seriously looking at.

Proper ring fenced money that goes where I have suggested.

Does anybody think we should donate and try and raise it? Or is it a waste of time?

Apologies for sounding desperate and rambling but really think as fans we should be going down fighting and doing all we can

Running a football club is a cash cow. This does all smack of Ron using the club to get FF, now it’s close he has a way of maximising wealth there and ditching the football club. He is not spending money on wages or bills as in his eyes it’s money down the pan as he’s prepared to let the club die because he can see a loophole to still build his houses without the new ground.
Just an opinion as I can’t see why all this bad news is happening at once without it being deliberate negligence on his parts.
Crowds of 5 to 6000 at NL level should easily be enough to run a well run club with sponsorship deals and minimal financial support from the board.

I’m not so sure. He could have let the club die many times over the last 20 years.

You'd need a very quick turn around. I'd imagine in the short space of time you would only get around half of what was raised last time if that.

Yes but how many times before has he been this close to actually getting shovels in the ground
As the planning permission currently stands without a new stadium the housing cannot happen. Why would he have spent a couple of million on a new training ground if that was the plan??

He's had planning permission before - so he's been almost as close as this before, but I'd agree this is the closest to a new stadium the club has been since Roots Hall was started
