A conversation about outstanding money is useless mental preparation for an important match tomorrow. It's obviously important for the players to be updated, but then we rely on the players and management being able to put rons nonsense to one side for 90 mins. I guess a conversation is better today than tomorrow.

Blues4lifeDan.......................I said this on another thread when Daggers lost Walker that they should be looking at Cardwell. It's now Miley. We cannot complain one bit. They are a better option than us now, end of. They are well run club who have a great reputation in the pyramid. Things we can only dream of.

Like destroying 4 (four) football clubs and selling 3 grounds---Wow what a history Dag and Red have!
I don't think I mentioned their history, in fact the opposite. I stated our history and how we were punching way higher than them previously, which emphasises our fall from grace.

On contrary, I'm talking about their current stability, not what they did in the past. The present is all that matters. Which is what Ron has to be reminded of when he tries to bring up successful seasons in league one and the like.

Whether people want to admit it or not, Dagenham is presently a club that is far more attractive than being at our club. There is no debate regarding that. Which is really sad and depressing I know.

Regardless of whether the players can leave now, in 2 weeks, 4 weeks whatever. The bigger picture is none of them or the staff have received their wages, still.

So with just over 2 weeks to go, we don't even have the ability to pay staff, let alone an eye watering 7 figure tax bill.

As Ron himself said, "it's going to be close" (at least he's honest) and I for one won't forgive him for putting our club and its good people in this position. Whether we survive past 1st March or not (We will in my opinion, but god knows how)

I be wondering where the money went from the last 5 home games, including tomorrow night.

I think I must be the 10th person to say this, but it won't even touch the sides of the club's debts to employees and suppliers.

I wouldn't even rule out the possibility of those takings being eaten up by the club's overdraft facility.....just conjecture of course.....

They will soon get bored of paying out of their own money & had enough.
They won’t, there is more than one investor actually lots of them and the money they put in each is just pocket change. One is worth $4b I kid you not. We’re bankrolled but not like Wrexham, they’ve pumped in around £5m in 4 year but most of that has been around the ground etc, around £500k is topped up on our playing budget each season.

Not heard of the Cav Miley rumour our side, what’s he like?

Hope your situation gets sorted, disgusting owner that needs lynching. We almost went pop before our owners came in it’s not nice.

Indeed - I wonder if the question of how the ring fenced players wages pot has run out got asked at the Tom Lawerence / MP / Supporters meeting?

Dreadful, get the word to your club he’s awful and should never try and sign him.

He's completely crap and a very naughty boy, now go away :Winking:

And Ron STILL refuses outside investment!!!

I’m done with this club I really am
Like I said after the date was set, I reckon he will wait until the 11th hour when he is up **** creek before taking outside investment. Let’s just hope at that time it won’t be too late!

SOUTHEND United players will head into Tuesday night's clash with Halifax Town still uncertain of when they will receive their wages.

The Shrimpers squad - who have yet to be paid for January - met with chairman Ron Martin on Monday.

But Echosport understands the underfire owner was unable to guarantee when salaries could be expected.

Amid the ongoing uncertainty, Blues boss Kevin Maher must prepare his side for tomorrow's encounter.

And he was again full of praise for his squad.
“There’s a lot of noise around the place and a lot of stuff coming out that we can’t control but the players have been very professional with how they go about their work,” said Maher.

“They work hard in training every day and we’ll be as prepared as we can be another tough game.”

Ron Martin has not replied to Echosport's request for a comment.
