As the planning permission currently stands without a new stadium the housing cannot happen. Why would he have spent a couple of million on a new training ground if that was the plan??

He's had planning permission before - so he's been almost as close as this before, but I'd agree this is the closest to a new stadium the club has been since Roots Hall was started
What about if the club ceases to exist? New stadium in today world cost lot of money (40/50 million i would guess). let's face it this whole development isn't done for the benefit of the football club. In reality the football club is just an obstacle/pain in the back side to the money men who fronting cash for housing. with no sufc, makes things lot easier.

Quite possible - but he runs the risk planning permission would not be amended and probably significant further delays.

No the buildings at the training ground are in a later phase
Is this not a big worry??
I don’t know why but I presumed that with new training ground completed it meant fully complete with full facilities. Where are the players going to change, eat, work out and have tactical meetings??
Currently all that’s there then are 4 or 5 pitches !!! If no stadium they can easily be converted to a community asset for the new housing development!!

This to me is ominous

Wasn't that because you p****d off a local businessman who pumped a large amount of coin into your club. When he withdrew his sponsorship you dropped out of the league

Same sort of thing some of our fans are doing to the likes of Tom and Stan
We was already in the national league when Glyn Hopkin a local Nissan car dealer was our owner, he used a fan rift with the still current MD as his reasons for pulling out, the real reason was he needed to save his money as he was about to be smashed with 100% compensation on used cars his business sold so copped out blaming the fans.

It’s a mystery.

What I do think is rm wants to fund the club to the absolute minimum and is treating people like trash.
What’s apparent is The closer he gets to the ff flats being done the less he’s willing to prop up the club.
Not sure how he’ll style it out with fans saying the clubs going under but I’m still building the flats.

Ron Martin is extremely manipulative ....

He mugged Steve Tilson into leading the players into keeping on playing ...

When those players moved on after that most of them were still owed money - and were forced into "settlements."

He is hoping that Maher will do the same.

The planning permission says something like stadium for Southend United or other football club - can't remember exact wording - but as the planning currently stands it needs a stadium finance to be agreed before Fossets can start (as well as training ground) and the stadium phase 1 to be complete before Roots Hall can start

Been discussed/dealt with on here many times in recent months. It is what it is. Most facilities (physio/gym/canteen etc) needed will be mainly at Roots Hall with limited temporary provision at the training ground

If Ron no longer needs the club - why is it being kept going, why doesn't he place it into Admin now or last month?
Matt, you’re wasting your time on here mate. It’s like Canute fighting the tide coming in. Nothing has really changed since January 18th. People need to hold their nerve and wait for March 1st.
No amount of protests, strikes or unsubstantiated rumours and scare stories will change the outcome, or indeed force the issue prior to D-Day

What part?

any of it .....

he has no money and is running around like a blue arsed fly trying to borrow it .

its all total chaos .

You are blatheringg on about the gym at Roots Hall while expecting professional footballers to play football on the promise of some money next month ... hopefully ..

Have you ever been taken by for a mug by someone who does not pay you for your work ?

Have you ever had a smarmy toe rag turn up and promise you your money "next month" ...

Have you ever tossed and turned at night reflecting on the decision you made to take a job and then find out its stinking pile cr=p.

Imagine the guff the players were told about the plans for SUFC and how the club was going places ...

Imagine players who have friends who tried to talk them out of going to SUFC - players whose girl friend liked it up north or wherever....

And now you are getting no money.

Ever been ripped off ?

Feeling like a mug ... thinking there might have been no crowd at the last club but they were good honest people - not some dodgy bloke coming down the training ground and talking blah blah bollox b;lah blah ...

Not geting paid your due is ugly.

More useful players should threaten to go on strike. He’ll quickly come up with the cash. Why go to his house to get verbally abused whilst he cries victim ?
The players without doubt will be very unhappy but the team have fought together to get where they are in the league and they are unlikely to jeopardise that by thinking of striking at this point. We can set running speculation that they will but that does make it any more likely it will happen. Like everyone else they will be waiting a couple more weeks to see what happens March 1st- hopefully they will get paid before then…

In a nutshell..

So since this saga started in 2008 ,Brighton , Bournemouth and Brentford 3 of our regular oppositions are now enjoying Premiership football whilst RM has virtually destroyed the club and taken us out the football league. The clubs reputation is now totally destroyed and yet he still lives in a world where he tells lie after lie and expects the supporters and players to believe his latest promises. The sheer fact that he could destroy the club but still financially come out in a better position stinks.

Hey - just answering some questions, don't know what any of the above has got to do with the questions I was answering

It’s not ominous at all. It’s always been the plan. Nothing has changed….where the players will change etc has been covered numerous times. Combination of temporary facilities and RH.
