At least he’s being honest I suppose.

Bottom line nothing is agreed yet in terms of a loan.
That's definitely the gist of his comments, but you never know whether his being truthful or not, & it's already been sorted?. ( I sincerely hope so )
Being the bloke he is, i wouldn't be surprised if he waits till the 23rd hr, & announces the moneys been secured, & 'good old Ron' has saved the club from oblivion?.
Obviously not mentioning it is his poor, deceitful ownership that got us in this precarious situation?. In his mind, he just wants to be the saviour who to the general public, has saved our club & deserves mega credit for doing so?.

After listening to the recording of Ron’s answers tonight it sounds like he is selling part/all of the club. There have been a few rumours around this recently and saying it will go close could suggest that they are close to an agreement but would also need to go through the responsible owners (lol) checks. May be completely wide of the mark but it could all make sense too as there could be more NDAs in place hence nothing coming out from the club etc.

So (if we still exist) the new stadium will now, possibly, maybe, if we are lucky start in the close season. Weren’t we already supposed to be on site already?

How on gods earth did you come to that conclution They can only get on site once the new training ground is up and running .Then boot n laces will be flatterned to make way for the spade work of the new stadium .

Few questions around this ‘email’:
1) why would we tell them to find a new job in mid February when we have until 1st March at least we are already on bare bones.
2) whenever any company is going to make people redundant etc they wouldn’t do it by email unless they were telling them to leave with immediate effect. These people are owed money and could easily cause a lot more issues for the club very quickly. Find it very unlikely that someone like Tom etc would not do this face to face.
3) this could be easily proven by sharing a copy with the name and address covered.

There are so many rumours on here now, many fake, that it’s hard to know what is right or wrong. I also think it’s really bad that some people are posting fake rumours and incorrect information on a regular basis for a number of reasons but the main one being so many people are concerned for the future and fake rumours are really not helping.

Emailing staff and telling them to look for new jobs would be carastrophic for the club especially as they haven't been paid either. It would be a clear case of unfair dismissal. Staff claim claim up to a years salary in compensation.

This whole ‘we won’t fold but it will be close’ comment says a lot to me. I know we can’t trust anything Ron says, but if you take that comment at face value he knows something we don’t, which could easily be that the loan is agreed and ready to draw down, but he can’t admit that as everyone would rightly demand he does so now to pay all the staff, players and other debts. But he doesn’t want to draw it down now, due to the high interest. So being the tightrope artist he is, he says enough to give us hope so he can play the game for a couple more weeks and draw down the loan at the last minute, as in, it will be close. I could be barking up completely the wrong tree in the wrong forest of course but it’s a theory at least..

same. It’s just how it is.

Not necessarily if it is constructed in the right way. Job at risk is quite a common pre redundancy notification and big companies perform the practice just s badly

Same as usual! Your another one who has jumped on the ron out band wagon!! If u knew anything about southend then u would know this has been going on for the last 20 years! Ron always gets us in this position and he always comes through right? It's all too predictable.

I can assure you this isn’t one of those rumours. Finding out who sent the email as well from within the club.
Yeah I mean I’m not saying you are making it up. It could mean anything, though.
Change of ownership.
Hoping they can rely on volunteers.

Couldn’t disagree more.
The truth would be better than the current sh!tshow!!

True, but theyve breached the contract already by not paying them. If they take it to a tribunal itll only go one way

Total agree 100 percent, plus all the publicity on TV , radio, papers, internet gives maximum exposure to any one daft enough to buy the club at the over inflated price by his nibs.
