Free agents this summer

Not true, a player who is 23 or older are allowed to negotiate when they have 6 months or less on their contract.

So according to posts on here, Tomlin and Holmes have signed pre-contracts with Gillingham. Something tells me that surely they don't want both.

Heard brown say pre match on Saturday he is still hopefull of Tomlin signing a new deal

Great shout on Slabber! Would be more than happy signing him over the likes of Folan and Fagan. Any idea if Chelmsford would need a fee? If so can't be more than about 10k?

You're joking surely?

Saw him last night. Slow and very unimpressive. Taken off.

Not a free agent but Gower saying he wants a team from either London or Essex to come in for him...

Wishful maybe? :winking:

It's a bit early for this thread but Danny Whittaker is a good shout, been impressed with him a couple of times that I've seen him. Pulled the strings for Chesterfield in midfield when we played them away in January, and we're short in central midfield now. 32 years old though.
32 is not old for a CM, especially at L2 level

Is he not allowed a bad game then? 37 goals in 22 apparences kind of suggests he knows where the goal is and is certainly no donkey. Danny Kedwell came into professional football at a late age aswell, pretty much the same age as Slabber as it goes. So I fail to see why I'm surely joking by suggesting it?

he has a year left on his contract but thay have money probs so if a fee was needed it wouldent be a lot
thay have had holmes barnet\ edmans daggers \bakara maccasfeild\ brindly chesterfeild
thay may have a new gem down there

he does have a knock on his knee at the moment

Your reliance on Wikipedia as your source betrays you! Although Slabber has done well this year, according to the club website he has 23 in 48 games, from what I know he is not league material but this is not to say there aren't plenty of other non-league players capable of stepping up

Is he quicker on some days than others then ?!

Is Damian Batt the quick right back? Every time we play them, I always feel he is a decent player and causes us problems. A good replacement if Sean leaves?

Weren't we linked with Harry Worley at one point?

Imagine Michael Dubbery coming in, we could have him and Coughlan in the middle with Phillips RB and Barker LB ..... the sheer pace would frighten every striker force in the country

:hilarious:

Oxford are undergoing a bit of a cull because part of Wilder's new contract states the squad has to be 25% academy products. Slightly odd stance to take, unless that's what they're dressing up a mass budget cut as.

Worley might be worth a punt if he's available on a discount wage. Things haven't gone right for him in the past three years or so, but his stock was reasonably high at Chelsea and Leicester, and I know he impressed whilst on loan at Crewe. Prosser's come on leaps and bounds defensively since he joined, so there's no reason why we couldn't do the same with Worley.
