Free agents this summer

Indeed, ridiculous money. I still think we would struggle to attract a quality conference striker though, if there are even are any.

Matt Green at Mansfield scored 25, yet they got promoted and I cant see us being able to buy a player like him

Cunnington of Tamworth scored 21 and they are near the bottom.

Then there is the player from Kidderminster, Gash. Who scores a few so maybe doesnt live up to his name

I think we should be looking lower too, like conference south. Just look at the top scorers and here are a couple.

Kieffer Moore at Dorchester might be decent. He is only 18 and scored 20 in the league which is pretty good as he was at bottom club Truro for most of it!

Ollie Palmer is top goalscorer with 25. He is a massive 6 foot 5 striker and still only 21 years old.

Also, Mark Haines has won Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year at Chelmsford.

I could look all day, but there is another player called Alex Bentley who won their POTY and Supporters' POTY who plays at LB.

You say that, but take Jamie Cureton for example (ignore the col ewe link for arguments sake).

I'm all for giving youth their opportunity, but at the end of the day we need players that will suit PB's system and to be of a standard that can help us get out of this league!

I think if the right player is available at the right price age should be irrelevant; be it early 20s (Bentley) or late 30s (Cureton)...

I would jump at the chance of having Jamie Cureton. Compare his goal scoring record with Folan and Fagan and you will see why.

Rather than ask why we arent looking at them, why isnt anyone ?

There may be decent players there, but they may also just not be good enough to go pro. We've seen how players struggle to make the step up to pro level both in ability and fitness. If they are that good then surely someone would be snapping them up even if we didnt?

It may well be that we have looked at some of them and just wasnt impressed.

Maybe other clubs have been looking at them too and could be waiting until the season is over before trying to snatch them. We will see at the end of the summer, but I reckon at least one of them would have moved on.

sean marks plays for braintree jamie slabber at chelmsford both could do a job bring em in for pre season have a look at em both players would be cheep

What makes me laugh about these threads are that none of us have a clue about any of this, we have no idea who PB is looking at, who his contacts are, who is really available and looking for a move. Probably best to just wait and see what happens. My guess is that west ham might feature on the list and a few ex players of his, but as I said who knows??

Great shout on Slabber! Would be more than happy signing him over the likes of Folan and Fagan. Any idea if Chelmsford would need a fee? If so can't be more than about 10k?

Wasnt it stated recently that pre-contracts cant be signed until 31st May ?

Not true, a player who is 23 or older are allowed to negotiate when they have 6 months or less on their contract.

So according to posts on here, Tomlin and Holmes have signed pre-contracts with Gillingham. Something tells me that surely they don't want both.

It's a bit early for this thread but Danny Whittaker is a good shout, been impressed with him a couple of times that I've seen him. Pulled the strings for Chesterfield in midfield when we played them away in January, and we're short in central midfield now. 32 years old though.

Best player on the pitch by a country mile that day.

Agreed. Why I said recently just let him get on with the job. Then we'll hear news of new signings when it breaks.

This isn't a 'Who Should PB buy' thread. I don't see many posts where people have demanded we buy x player. Just stating who is available.
