Foran To Aberdeen...

How do you know the denial of it being true you heard wasn't just somebody trying to put you off the scent. I've heard this one from far too many different & in some cases really reliable sources for there to be no smoke without fire!

Ah pish posh, leave the lad alone you tart!! :D

I've always liked Foran as a player and I still do. Things just haven't worked out for him here. He has never been given a real run in the team, someone correct me if I am wrong?? also, Tilly kept playing him on the left wing when he is a striker. One of his reasons for leaving Motherwell was because he was fed up stuck on the wing and he moved to Southend and was promptly stuck out on the wing! I saw his debut at Stoke when he came on as sub and he produced a great pass to set up Freddie's late goal that gave us a point. From then on he never really got a proper chance in his favoured postition and was eventually farmed out to Darlington. I personally think a move back up north will do him good and he will soon start scoring goals.

great post!

and the standard of the SPL is fine for the size that Scotland is... Rangers and Celtic have showed how good they can be europe in the last few years and majority of the other teams can play on a par with the CCC. Scottish football might not have the population for massive crowds or the money as La Liga and the Premiership do but the SPL is still played with plenty of passion and can be just as entertaining (look at Thursday night) even if the standard is not as good... and that goes for the lower leagues, welsh and irish etc.. aswell!

Probably also time to point out that our average attendance this season would have been good enough for 6th highest in the SPL - imagine what it would be like if/when we're a successful CCC club!

This looks like it's going to happen, Tilly has said there's been no contact but the story just won't go away.

He needs a move, we need him off the wage bill, as others have said the Burnely goal apart he just didn't perform in a Blue shirt.

too true... although if the SPL was a more competitive league i.e. without the old firm, then attendances they would be higher but not by much.. but the likes of Hibs, Hearts and Aberdeen should/could be getting 15,000-18,000 average which is still (without looking) only about halfway if you look at the CCC capacity league table... the standard is a lot better than a lot of people think..

but back to the thread good luck to Richie Foran.. hope he proves a lot of people wrong!

Weren't Darlo interested in Harrold start of last season?? Maybe they could make a double swoop Buy Foran for 50p and get Matt Harrold free.

I didn't mind him but Tilly never gave him a chance.
It would be good to see him go 'cos his never gunna get a look in with us

He wont get a look in because useless. I would put both Harrold, and Pantyner in front of him. On top of all that a decent amount of money, chucked down the drain.

Personally feel sorry for the lad as it hasnt worked out for him and ok has worked as a waste of money but if for every Foran we sign we also sign a Bailey then so be it. Expensive way of working a transfer market but we only ever do it the hard way
