Meanwhile a new Essex themed gangster film is released ever two or three weeks.

What about the quality though?Michael Caine the star Of Get Carter is of course a Londoner

Saw Mike Leigh's Hard truths ealier and found it a hard watch big ML fan that I am.Marianne Jean-Baptiste is excellent though.

I saw that at The London Film Festival---The film was a load of rubbish.

I saw that at The London Film Festival---The film was a load of rubbish.

I wouldn't say that at all.Though I had to re-read Pete Bradshaw's review in the Grauniad to make sense of it .Apparently the character played excellently by Marianne Jean -Baptiste,Pansy,was suffering from clinical depresion and needed professional help. Not having any expertise in this area I didn't recognise the condition though the symptoms were obvious.

Another vote for Walter Salles's excellent I'm Still Here which Mrs Tangled and I saw at the Balmes yesterday:TBF we'd first heard about if from our younger daughter,currently working in Brasilia.Deeply moving.
