Films you've watched recently.

The Magic Flute - On Paramount Plus. A modern day telling of Mozart's opera following a young man going to music school in Austria and being transported into the magical world of the flute. A mix of modern day pop songs and Mozart's music. Featuring Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton/Snow) to you and I. Didn't know he could sing! I thoroughly enjoyed it, to my surprise, as I'm not an opera fan, but I still don't really know what I thought of it.

The Man Who Knew Too Much (the first one with Peter Lorre)
Paths of Glory

Early Hitchcock and early Kubrick, and you can see their directorial touches start to develop. Especially Kubrick's use of close-ups, huge number of extras and immense attention to detail.

Both well worth a watch

One to avoid then .I'm off to see The Zone of Interest on Wed. -with mixed feelings after having seen the trailer and read a couple of reviews.

Saw the wonderful "The Zone of Interest" yeserday at the Balmes multicine.Thought the final scenes at the modern day Aushwitz-Birkenhau museum were fully justified in terms of context.

I see it's up against some stiff competion for the Oscar for best Inernational film.
