Films you've watched recently.

Border - dark Swedish fantasy about a female border guard with exceptional tracking abilities. Goes all WAF but a great film. By the guy who directed Let The Right One In - was on Film 4 last week so maybe on All4. Highly recommended.

Love Sarah. Not my choice but a feelgood movie very much in the Richard Curtis style. Not bad if you're in the mood.

We went to see it as part of the cineclub season in SC.It was supposed to be in English but wasn't.* To give you an idea. the title in Spanish is Una pastelria en Notting Hill.

(*Result. My wife complained and got us 2 invitation tickets to see any other film of our choice until May).

The Batman.I did enjoy it and some very good performances but at just under 3 hours maybe a little longer than needed to be.I still think the Dark Knight trilogy is better

Saw Libertad (Freedom) last night on DVD. Interestingly, this was the film that got most Goya (Spanish Baftas) nominations. Not that good IMO,unless you're particulary inerested in Spanish coming of age fims, which I'm not (very).

Brighton with Larry Lamb, Phil Davis and Lesley Sharpe.
Speechless and wish we hadn't......I'll leave it at that.....and i love a good swear

it have pictures? If not, that's way too many pages.
Yes and it's nearly 3 hours long .Almost unrecognizable from the short story which I've also read. They really "opened" it up with a lot of time spent on the rehearsal of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya (not a favourite play of mine) and a "suprise" ending which didn't do anything for me.Imagine they were hoping for Parasite syle success but I doubt if this will win any Oscars.Dunno how it did at the Baftas but I can't imagine it would have succeded there. It's just long and boring. The opposite of the excellent short story it was based on.

Interesting. Parasite is one of very few films that was hyped up so much but I still thought it was excellent.
