Films you've watched recently.

I know I’m not cool or indeed trendy but I personally thought that Belfast was gash but each to their own.

Too touchy feely for you Tony? Or forgotten about the troubles (1968-1998) already?
Baldy :-I have seen it twice and I simply loved it....

Indeed.Incidentally I saw it with my wife who loved it too apart from the occasional scenes of violence.

Saw Liquorice Pizza earlier with cameo roles from Sean Penn and Tom Waites.Thoroughly enjoyable with a great soundtrack.Nostagia (in this case for 1973) works for me.

@Tangled up in Blue, yours is about the first, and only good report I have read on "Dog" film, most seem to give up after 30 minutes or can't get past some awful accents.
Brokeback Mountain it's not (much more subtle than that and will probably lose out at the Oscars accordingly).I liked Jane Campion's first film The Piano (with Harvey Keitel).Don't think I've seen anything else she's done. She makes what used to be called art house pictures -so probably not everyone's cup of tea.Didn't notice a problem with the accents.

I saw "Parallel Mothers" an excellent film.
Penelope Cruz stars (run that cold shower!)
Yeah she is rather good looking ,isn't she? :Winking: (but sadly happily married -to Javiar Bardem-saw both of them at the (3hour + Goyas ceremony on Sat.nite-had to turn over for an hour for MOTD much to the wife's disgust).

Talking about accents heard from a friend that someone we both know had a problem with the accents in Belfast.I certainly didn't nor did my wife.

The Duke.I really liked it.Great performances from Helen Mirren and particularly Jim Broadbent who was hilarious
Got a good review from Mark Kermode in the Observer/Guardian.Definitely on my to see list when it gets a release in Barna.Saw Broadbent and HM talking about it on the box the other day.Looks fun.
