No but the title sounds vaguely familiar.

Saw Brooklyn again last night.Not my choice but an excellent film nonetheless.

(Didn't know Colm Toibin while he was working in Barna, though an Irish mate was a colleague at the Dublin School,Did see him give a very strange keynote address at a teachers' conference here back in the day).

Think he's certainly found his vocation as a novelist though).

Burn after Reading is one of the worst films I’ve ever watched. I wouldn’t bother!

Raging Bull is one of my favourite films of all time. I'd add Heat, Casino and another less mentioned Scorsese, the King of Comedy - for anyone who hasn't seen that it's a great satire/social commentary that the acclaimed director himself is said to rate as De Niro's best acting performance.
Never mind Dirty Grandpa what about those Kia car adverts...does he really need the cash that much??

He had a major secondary role in Sleepers which was on at the weekend, he is quality in the right role.
Sleepers is an okay watch, Brad Pitt stars and Kevin Bacon gets killed as the baddie.

I watched I Kill Giants. It's good though, given that it deals with fear, delusion, and bereavement, it might have been a bit heavier than I wanted with the world the way it is right now. I might need to watch something fluffy where nothing sad happens.

We are doing film night on Saturday 8pm sharp.

Last Saturday it was First Man. A very decent film about Neil Armstrong starring Ryan Gosling. My only quibble was that a lot of it was shot on handheld cameras, and I am not a huge fan of that technique.

The previous Saturday we watched The Old Man and the Gun. Again, based on the exploits of a real person, the US bank robber Forest Tucker. This film stars Robert Redford in what he has said is his last ever acting role. It is quite a simple story, but it is well acted and told.

Next Saturday we watching the 80s film The Long Riders. Another film loosely based in real events, this time the James-Younger gang who robbed banks and trains in the Midwest after the end of the American Civil.

What I quite like about this film among other things is the clever casting which I understand was the idea of James Keach. You have James and Stacey Keach as the James brothers. David, Keith and Robert Carradine play the Youngers. Denis and Randy Quaid are the Millers, and Nicholas and Christopher Guest are the Ford brothers. A bit violent, it was given 18 certificate on its release.

yes he does, he got cleaned out by one of the Hollywood madams, Heidi something a few years back.

That cost him a few dollars, but I think he's going to be O.K. His estimated net worth is $500 million, as of 2020. So that Heidi Fleiss thing was a minor blip. I once saw an interview with him a few years back, and the interviewer asked him if he will retire soon, as surely he doesn't need the money. He said, he carries on because he absolutely loves acting. He said he loves being in different sets or locations, and the challenge of playing a character in a role, especially if it's nothing like him. He said they just happen to throw millions of dollars at him, which is an added bonus.
