Films you've watched recently.

Trainwreck. Much better than I was expecting, very funny & flipped the usual gender roles for rom-coms. Also a great ensemble cast including John Cena, Jon Glaser (Jeremy Jamm in P&R), an unrecognisable Tilda Swinton, Method Man and Lebron James who completely stole the show. 7.5/10

Just watched this on your recommendation and it's pretty good. Lebron James is excellent! Really enjoyed watching this film.

Saw Fahrenheit 451 again last night on DVD.Wonderful film.

Thanks to phsend for reminding me I had a copy of it (which I hadn't seen for years).

Saw Spotlight this afternoo.Excellent film which should pick up a couple of gongs at the Oscars.

Speaking of which, I was a bit suprised that there didn't appear to be any black journalists working at The Boston Globe.

Dope. Badass soundtrack of 90s hip hop and new music by Pharrell, Malcolm lives in Inglewood, Los Angeles and is trying to get into Harvard but gets mixed up in a drug war, smart & funny. 8.5/10

Saw Carol the other day.Didn't do anything for me at all I'm afraid.

Counted only 4 blacks in the film (all in menial positions) for a film set in 1950's New York.

Yeah we enjoyed this too. Ending was weak and probably played it safe, but plenty of genuine laughs. 7/10

Baby Cart to Hades
The third film in the Lone Wolf & Cub series. Much more plot and much less action in this one, but still totally wonderful and visually stunning. 7/10

Disgusting. It wouldn't have killed the special effects department to add a few dozen CGI black people.

Seriously, you're even getting on my tits now. So what are you trying to highlight? Hollywood is racist?

Off sick with man flu today, so just watched the truly remarkable Room. Wonderful film 10/10

Don't you ever count blacks in a film? :hilarious: I thought everyone did.

I must admit, I gave up after a few minutes into boyz n the hood though

Watched it last night, really good. Like you say soundtrack is great.

Didn't even bother trying to count black people though

Kept me entertained, watching a rather poor film.Remember the late, great, Charlie Parker was playing regularly in NY (plus a host of others, including Mingus,Miles Davis etc) back in the 50's.

Get well soon.:raspberry:

Thanks.

Watched A Syrian Love Story - remarkable documentary about a Syrian family against the background of the revolution. Very moving and a must see for those who think that Syrians are just leaving their homes to come to the UK to live in Sunderland on benefits.
