Evening Echo today

The identity of the members of the consortium really isn't all that important compared to what their plans are - particularly in regard to the stadium.

Can't be bothered to read back but it says on the echo website that they have a combined wealth in excess of £150 Million. Lets buy Torres to partner John Terry up front ;)

And the rest...

If it is as reported The Gould's behind the consortium.

so if we can find 10 investors to put in say £0.5M each.....

we can pay the £2.1M tax bill, have another £900k for sundry debts, £1M to cover the losses for the rest of the season and £1M transfer kitty till the end of the season.....then take it from there.......

what do you reckon ;)

That is not far off the mark. Unfortunately a consortium of 10 with many wanting equal say in Southend United FC is probably not going to work because of there conflicting finances.

Then why haven't the Echo said who they are and, just as importantly, what their intentions are should the club go into administration.

Surely they asked the question.

I would also like to know if they are real fans (it seems they are) and if they are season ticket holders etc. Or are they made up of Essex businessmen / property guys who support Tottenham or West Ham on the quiet and have only been to one or two matches in the last 10 years.

It makes a lot of difference to know that real fans are investing their money into something they love, knowing full well they might incur some big losses in the short term, or perhaps for ever.

What's the Evening Echo?

Bit pedantic I know but it's amusing when people who say the Echo gets its facts wrong don't even know the name of the paper.

It hasn't been an evening paper for about four years.

Very pedantic....used to be called the evening echo, now more commonly known as the southend echo .

I've offered a quid to be a member of the consortium, and they have already confirmed my position as that of sexual advisor.

When they want my ****ing advice they'll ask for it. :'(

property guys! if only we could get one of them to run the club......

Ah you mean the original post about the board reviewing the consortium bid thingy .. makes sense now :stupidme:

Yes lol. I have no idea when it is being revealed. It seems as though these businessmen want in quickly!!

I have a good guess who two of those involved are but I only know ones name and I am not sure they are actually connected too closely.

Do you use this website Mr Wealthy Businessmen?!!?!?
