Some of the names banded about are:

The Gould's - Regis Plc.
The Rubins - GSC Property Holdings Plc.
Steve Champion - Owner of a betting chain.
Steve Foster - No idea who he is. Possible Law firm owner.

Ok so names it could be so far either as a group or separate entities:

The consortium have confirmed that their offer will still stand if the club does go into administration.

I have heard there is a second consortium although they aren't Southend based, but at least Essex based.

Ooh, we could have Ron playing the part of King Solomon the wise (irony optional depending on POV) and deciding who should have the baby SUFC (at 103 years old, it is a baby compared to Crickson). Ron offers to cut the club in half and whoever says, no, let the other one have it, I couldn't bare to see my baby die, is the true supporter and shall have the club. Hoorah!

The last I heard there were about 5 or 6 parties claiming to be putting forward a bid. Separating the wheat from the chaff is the thing we should be doing.

Thats all I know I'm afraid. Another consortium from the Brentwood area are planning/have submitted a bid. As wealthy, if not more so than the members of the one consortium bid we do know of.

Either way, it seems there are a number of bids being prepared/submitted. All with very, very wealthy backers. Will one be rushed through before tomorrow, I doubt it. And I think as fans we wouldnt want that. Will one be successful quite possibly, but not yet..,
