Masters is putting a shift in, 39 run partnership and the lead is 166. Hopefully Ravi can get to his ton and the tail can wag a bit.

Masters falls for an excellent and much needed 48, Ravi moves to 130. The lead is now 244, that's looking an imposing total at Garons. Has it flattened or is Ravi batting that well?

332/7, Ravi 151*, a timlely nudge to the England selectors with Strauss and Morgan both failing again.

We lead by 274

Get in!

Masters strikes 2nd ball to remove Jefferson.

Is this Northamptonshire all over again where bowling last Masters removed the ex-Essex opener for a duck in the first over? Let's hope so.

Leics require 315 btw, after Ravi's superb 178

I wasn't expecting to type this, but think Essex will be claiming the extra half-hour.

Leicestershire 21/6.

David Masters 5/3 - yes that's 5 wickets for 3 runs and not 3 wickets for 5 runs.

Blimey I was expecting to see this go to a 4th day, couldn't believe when I saw they were 29/8, well done Masters with the ball and Bopara with the bat.
