Many many congratulations DBP .. how do you get invited to such a gig anyway ??

I wish I could say it's because of my batting prowess but sadly not, a friend of mine is well connected in the Oil Industry and he is a regular for Broadhalfpenny. I played for them a few years back and got presented with a club tie which was pretty special in itself, but this is a complete privilege and better still my family are allowed to go; and are permitted to wander the Castle grounds during the day. If I see Her Majesty I'll pass on SZ's regards.

Sorrey 277/4 off 61 overs at stumps. KP snaffled up by MtS for 58.

I take it MtS bowls left arm spin and was brought on to play on KP's mind somewhat..... Evidently MtS is more useful than the toss that Australia tried to use in the ashes over the winter!

Nah, he's a right-arm medium pacer- so more like Ricky Ponting and Damien Martyn.

I'd compare him to maybe Nathan Astle, although that's mainly so I can use my favourite Bumble quote:

"If Nathan Astle is a better bowler than Graham Thorpe my arse is a fire engine".

Haha, Im shocked that he bowls seam.....bet he doesn't generate much bounce!

Nice early wicket for Essex today, the well set RHB departs for 159 .. if we could just enforce the follow on we might be able to sneak a win here though the draw must remain the odds on favourite at the minute

Agree a draw looks the most likely outcome, I think it depends on how quickly we can polish off their tail. Even if they weren't obliged to follow on (don't know the target), if we could get them out for under 400 and then add a quick couple of hundred or so and get at them again for the last half-hour this evening, it could lead to an interesting last day? Now 311-6

Does Matt Walker bowl Right Arm Round or Right Arm Overweight?

The pitch at Whitgift sounds like a batsmans paradise, game heading for a draw though.

You leave our rotund superhero alone please sir :finger2:

Got to agree though, it was always going to be hard for us to claim a win, and nigh on impossible for you guys after our first knock but i must admit i'm a little disappointed you got so close

I think our batting line up will be quite solid this season, just depends what bowling attack turns up.

See Dernbach is doing well with the Lions, 3 wickets so far. Could of done with him playing rather than Linley.
