Had a trawl through the Essex record individual batting scores this morning and apart from Percy Perrin's ridiculous innings when cricket was played at a break neck pace in black & white and with a tennis ball, the next highest score is 286, followed by 277 and 275 (Gooch).

Reckon Tom could knock those off this morning.

Good stattage but you've cursed him.
 
With Kent winning they're now ahead of us on fewest defeats. Obviously our current game isn't included yet, but it does prove we can't afford to slip up. Max points here will put us 24 points ahead with only 2 games each left.
