Think I'd prefer an overseas spinner, in truth.

As Napier is still in and even Masters has a first class century, we should bat on this morning. Ideally for around 75 minutes, if possible, then have two cracks at them either side of lunch with the new ball, which has caused early damage in both innings, so far.

Not for me, with Napier retiring and Masters who should be retiring, I'm more than happy to see a fast bowler come into our attack (not that Masters was ever fast)

Just wondering if we got promotion, if Napier would stay on for one more year, even if to steady the ship when the youngster play.

At Lords he was very protective on the youngsters, arms around them when hit all over the place, big grin when they did well

Great servant to the club

Well done Napes. 7 off the final over available for bonus points sees Essex to maximum bonus points.

This now all depends on when the storms hit and how much play we get in as to whether we can force a win.

Now 99-4

Can we keep having these short rain breaks please, we seem to be taking wickets immediately after coming back on.
