"Kieffer Moore scored more goals in 31 minutes against us than he had in his previous 39 League appearances.

Tom Eaves scored more goals in 24 minutes against us than he had in his previous 32 League appearances.

Ben Whiteman scored as many goals in 11 minutes against us as he had in his previous 30 League appearances.
"

It could only happen to us....

Look if he was a really 'top class manager' he wouldn't be managing Southend United in League 1. However he will prove a tough act to follow for anyone as we have improved every season (both on and off the pitch) since he has been here and all things considered imo there is no reason to suggest (yet) that this season will be any different. Potentially massive players for us like Kightly, Coker, Kieran and Turner should all be back in the next couple of months and when they are fit we will be more than okay. If you think about it the entire back four that started today would probably not be starting a game at the moment if all our players were available. Perhaps it's no wonder we are struggling to keep clean sheets.
I heard on BBC Essex earlier that Turner will play in an U23 match v Colchester on Tuesday. With AF and Kyp likely to be out, even not fully fit,he'd be a much better choice than White at the back-with Lenny if need be.

This is the 2nd such statement I've seen you make criticising White, what do you have against a player who was our clear player of the month last month?

Absolutely awful performance, no heart, no desire, no ability.
constant Long balls to the hopeless Ranger who didn’t win a header today.

Oxley 6, could’ve been worse, good save for their first goal but looked shaky at times.
Timlin 4, showed desire but was generally useless on the ball.
Ferdinand 1, slow, immobile and struggled to be in a header, shown a red card at full time so hopefully he won’t be back in the side for a while
White 3, constant Long balls, won a few headers and showed some commitment.
Elvis 7.5, best player for us by a mile, very comfortable on the ball, got forward well and his crossing was very good.
Mclaughlin 1, absolutely woeful, corners didn’t clear the first man, didn’t look interested.
leonard 4, he tried, that’s as much as I can say
Wordsworth 5, neat touches, clearly on his own wavelength at times, good finish for the goal.
Wright 6, very neat touches, maybe to blame for the equaliser but he shouldn’t have been replaced, McLaughlin was awful
cox 5, missed a good chance but looked more like the old coxy
ranger 3- didn’t win a header, few nice touches but nothing like he was last season

Phil Brown 2- wring substituons, clearly at half time he didn’t inspire the players, dreadful second half against a dreadful Doncaster team

You've given Elvis a 7.5 when he spent a lot of the game playing everyone onside and Ferdinand a 1. A 1 means you've scored 6 own goals, punched your own goalkeeper in the face and tieing the shoelaces of your own left back for a laugh.

Ferdinand was poor, he was left exposed for the pen but shouldn't have dangled the leg. That whole situation was totally avoidable. The first and second goals were just horrible. The first, Josh Wright basically gave them, the second was Fleetwood all over again, a lofted ball from kick off and I can't quite tell who the culprits were but it was another free kick in a dangerous position, the third of the match. We also did this constantly vs Wimbledon. Coppinger is class and you can't give him so many opportunities.

The makeshift defence is not doing Anton any favours. He's being expected to lead the way alongside a unit of youngsters and an out of position CM with a penchant for giving away dangerous free kicks. Yes, he has been poor, a shadow of his former self, but ask yourself is it any wonder given the way our defence has been patched together this season? Oh and he's a tit for being sent off after the whistle. But 1 out of 10? I almost want to force you to watch footage of David Morley in his pomp.

At the end of the day Brown has signed two 'marquee' central defenders who are not fit and were never likely to be. A black mark against his name and one that will end our promotion hopes.

Your choice of back 4 would be...?"choice", not "choc ice"!

Hat-trick update:
Kieffer Moore scored more goals in 31 minutes against us than he had in his previous 39 League appearances.

Tom Eaves scored more goals in 24 minutes against us than he had in his previous 32 League appearances.

Ben Whiteman scored as many goals in 11 minutes against us as he had in his previous 30 League appearances.

Three times is downright negligent !

That is absolutely shocking!

Well, at least that's going to have screwed up opposition scouts' theories to "target Ferdinand" for the next few games! From what we heard on the radio, that was clearly what Doncaster were doing.

Why is Woody not taking corners any more? He is by far our best deliverer of dead balls. Far too many problems today, an inability to get a corner past the 1st man being a major one. How long till Kightly is back?

Defence is going to be interesting, have to hope Kyprianou's injury is not as serious as it seems or that Kiernan might be closer to being back, as next week is definitely a big game - if not then looks like Lenny back with White in the centre of defence, in which case Timlin needs to go back into midfield and Hendrie - a proper defender - back in at left back.

Wonder if anyone is going to ask Brown about Ferdinand at the Trust Q&A on Monday.......?

I actually hope they would focus on his DD with signings. We signed six players in the summer. Wright, Turner, Kightly, Kiernan, Ba, Hendrie. One is playing but was fully at fault for the first goal today, three are injured, one is admittedly a fringe player and one is a left back warming the bench while a central midfielder plays in his position.

Are people seriously pinning their hopes on a turner recovery to save our season. If so then we are royally screwed. It would not surprise me one bit if he breaks down again and we dont see him play. This is the guy that had played 4 or 5 games in the last two seasons.

I hadn't thought of it like that but you're right. It makes you fancy a curry.

"Why is Woody not taking corners any more?"

Maybe because he's losing hope. A corner into the box is aimed at the aerial strength and I don't mean the washing powder.
We have no threat at corners.

Elvis played well.

Lenny never gives up.

Brown needs to tell Cox to play as a striker and stop working so hard.

We've scored from three this season. Leonard vs Blackburn, Wordsworth vs Blackpool and White vs Charlton. That's not bad to be fair. I admit it seems odd because we look awful from them generally. But McLaughlin has set all three of those up I believe. So that's probably why Wordsworth isn't taking corners.

John White is not the problem.

Absolutely definitively not the problem.

Look elsewhere Paul.

I agree with all that but don't you feel like this;

They get a corner and go :clap:
We get a corner and go :cry:

Oh absolutely, don't get me wrong when someone told me we'd scored three from corners I was astounded. And that doesn't even count McLaughlin's free kick that Cox nodded in at Fleetwood, or the FK Demetriou scored from vs Northampton.]

Used to be pro brown until I was educated by those who know...i want him out of my beloved club....we could do so much better

...and you' d bring in..er...who? And how do you know your proposed Messiah will do the job?

Agree with this. Today was ****ing awful and I have been a Brown outer in the past but when you look at some of the other clubs in this division (Doncaster admittedly not one of them) what exactly are our expectations this year? We overachieved massively last year, and we're battling a horrendous injury crisis (which admittedly is partly down to Brown signing crocks).

Brown is not perfect. There are questions to be asked. But overall he's done a decent job and I back him to keep us up.
