Andre Keith Braugher (/ˈbraʊ.ər/; July 1, 1962 – December 11, 2023) was an American actor, best known for his roles as Detective Frank Pembleton in the police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street (1993–1999), used car salesman Owen Thoreau Jr. in the comedy-drama series Men of a Certain Age (2009–2011), and Captain Raymond Holt in the police comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013–2021).

It is interesting that when some people pass away that to you they may seem very well known but a stranger to others.Bob Hoskins passed away about 10 years ago and I was at a gym and talking to a lad about 25 and he had no idea who he was which to me seemed mad as he was one of Britain's finest actors but he would have heard of reality stars and You Tubers that wouldn't register to myself
