Indeed. Same as if we had let him go for 1.25m many would have said it wasnt enough.
We can go through this all again in January now!
Just need to be top of the table and convince Bentley to sign a new contract

In January, clubs can speak to him without permission from the club, they can basically agree a contract to be signed next summer. Because he will only have 6 months left on his contract. So I don't think we will sell him in January when clubs can get him on a free.
You have to be 23 to do that, Dan will still be 22 when his contract expires.
Living in the Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire BBC region, I have just heard on the local evening news programme that Hull City are still trying to sign a goalkeeper before the window closes.
That's what I thought. Typical of our local BBC, just repeating the story they ran at lunchtime! It closed at 18:00 hours. They will have to wait until Jan16 now if they want him.
Dunno, but glad its over by 6. Bet Sky were gutted they couldnt run their nonsense all over prime time.On another note, does anyone know why the scottish league get until midnight to complete signings?, bearing in mind that we are on the same time zone unlike european leagues and bank holidays etc.
Now we have kept Bentley it would probably be wise to send Ted Smith out on loan to a league two club to help prepare him to take the reigns (gloves) in Jan/start of next season.

Yep clubs still have to 8pm tonight to complete:blush:
and you will still here of deals coming through in the morning:stunned:...only if the final details are being completed.

They take much longer to sober up each morning, so often start later.
I have been told that if he stays they will be looking at an extended contract to obviously protect the club, but allow Dan the right move when it materializes. I was surprised by this info myself, but it now appears that he is staying. This from someone who is involved in contracts.
makes sense from the clubs point of view, extension with a realistic release clause. All depends on dan and if he would be willing to go with it. I think we would all understand if he didn't, but will all be hopeful he will
