Dale farm evictions "may breach human rights"

In all honesty is it relevant as to whether they're gypsies, pikeys, tinkers, or anybody else? They've built illegally and have been told that the structures must come down.

Whilst I'm sure the left leaning members of society will be up in arms about this I'll ask them. How would they feel if a multi millionaire built a house illegally? Would they be insisting it be pulled down, or would he have Vanessa Redgrave as a house guest telling the world how terrible it is that he's going to be evicted?

The law's the law, you either obey it or pay the consequences.

I'm really quite amazed that any SUFC supporter would use language like this when Freddy Eastwood(quite rightly)is one of our most revered players and there are constant calls for him to come back some day.Who knows, maybe he's friends with some of the people at Dale Farm?:winking:

Good value for the taxpayer? Kill them all. Change the law to make this OK. I can't imagine being a policy officer at Basildon Council because I pride myself on being a member of the private sector, actively generating wealth and tax revenues rather than ******* them in.

As for these people being British, I believe Eire became independent from Her Britannic Majesty's Kingdom some time ago.

Yes but I think you'll find they're EU citizens.

I wish Labour would move freely within the EU and FRO....their policies have largely ruined the country!

No.I think you're talking about the decision made by the last Government(when economic conditions were much better)to allow the so-called "new accession" countries eg Poland,Rumania etc, entry to the UK on the same basis as older EU states.Other, wiser,EU countries,eg Germany, France and Spain etc chose not to relax the rules to the same extent.

I'm sure they can afford the c2c day-return fare to Basildon.(I certainly wouldn't recommend any Hotels there):winking:

Or even down to Wickford station next Saturday for the demo:-

I read the Guradian but am under no illusion that they view Essex and it's residents with anything other than contempt.

Funny,I've been a regular reader since 6th form days(which in my case was some time ago)and that's not the impression I have. And I'm just as proud as hailing from Essex as I imagine everyone else on SZ is.

Sally Bercow sticking her oar in it now. I don't understand how these people can stand behind the travellers and say it's wrong to evict them, then I remember, they live nowhere near them and are just doing it as a PR stunt.

How dare you say barny is only standing shoulder to shoulder with the tarmac tribe as a pr stunt.

Actually Tony it's not about me,or Vanessa Redgrave or even Sally Bercow. It's about a group of people struggling to maintain a decent standard of settled accomodation for themselves, their families and their kids, which they've been living in for the last ten years.

No it is isn't it's about a group of people who have built on green belt land without the appropriate planning permission, therefore they and the structures they have erected are illegal.

They are poeople that like to travel,no one is trying to stop then doing what is thier human right and travel.
I and many others in basildon and on sz live thier lifes by the laws of the land, alas the diddys dont.
When some hapeless brit gets kicked out of thier spanish dream home for some planning wrong doing or another, are you there shoulder to shoulder, doubt it but i may be wrong(unlike some people i get things wrong).
These so called traverlers are mostly irish if not all irish, big place irealand lots of nice places to stop and ruin.
Lots of these lovely lovely chaps and chappessess have places in manchester, brum france and spain.
I like yourself and these lovely guys and dolls live in a forgien country, now if i put a caravan on my land without permission i would be fined and it would be removed and rightly so,laws of the land you live in blah blah blah.
These brilliant lovely caring folk knew very well the law of the land that they choose to live in,so well in fact that 50 or so non moving traverllers are in or on legal plots but hold on 50 or so are not, strange but im sure the paper work was put in but lost by some nasty nasty council bod(every ones out to get them it seems).

In short i would remove the caravans and put them in the garden/driveways of all thier supporters from camp constent, redgrave, your fine self and your little gang.
My opion but then i hate them but then i am a fat ugly racist, you are more than welcome to your opion and i bow to the fact that you are close to these people having been on a picket line and brought the swp from outside smiths.
Personal data on my views.....after my grandparents were killed by franco my mother was brought up by a gypsey on the outskirts of seville, until she married my father and moved to the uk.
I have been to dale farm ond other sites and had dealings with the irish non moving gangs, ive had dealings with french gypos and the roma scum,i dont live in a glass house but i do throw stones, your high horse has had two legs cut off and you bare falling from the saddle.
Send them home and stop the benifits of the mighty camp constent melts.
love peace and light to all bar the tinkers from the emerald isle.
Did i mention hat i was engeged to a traveller(female).

Actually while they are there illegally , it has never been greenbelt land (it was mentioned in court it is not green belt reporters just keep adding it )

Irrespective the word in bold is what this is about. It's not about race, it's not about ethnic cleansing or any other buzz word or bullcrap, it's about whether this people have built structures on land where they live and have no planning permission to do so. IMO Dale Farm should be cleared of the illegal dwellers & structures, and it should be used as an object lesson for all other illegal sites in the country.

I agree , it was a **** up on both sides (well more illegal intent on the travellers ;)). But it had been stated that the council could have sorted this yes about 10 years at far less cost .
