Dale farm evictions "may breach human rights"

Barna must have blocked me as he is obviously unable to read my question as to what the Pikeys offer to society. If someone isnt blocked by Barna perhaps they could ask him for an answer
Thanks in advance.

About the same as you or I do(or anyone else on SZ for that matter).

This is why I'm not a liberal or socialist. I can't pretend to care about people who blatantly break the law.

You must have held some progressive views once if your avator is anything to go by.Even if only on the legalisation of certain mind enhancing drugs.:winking:

Nail on head Mr Napster with the comment about liberals or socialists pretending to care about others.
I've been forced to the same conclusion that, even though their ideals may sometimes be good in theory, the reality often seems most of them hold them mainly as a means of looking down their noses at everyone else.

my problem with some of the left is their smug, arrogant certainty that they are right all the time and mere mortals that subscribe to an alternative view are fools. Everthing is reducible to their theoretical view of the world. I've learnt the lesson over the years that you cannot reason with these people because they truly believe they are right. And not right some of the time, but all of the time.

Sound familiar????

pretty much what I was trying to say though it also sounds scarily like an accurate description of myself:raspberry:

Indeed.
I've never understood why liberal & socialist views are deemed progressive, while conservative views must as a consequence be deemed regressive. Surely if a view propogated by the liberal/socialist "elite" is regressive it can't be progressive?
No wonder I never got a degree in political studies.

The major thing with the policies/views of the left that in the main they are policies of envy, and to top the envy up, they are as you describe views that they think they are always right, and we should benefit by a bigger stranglehold on our lives by the state.

The left also produces more than its fair share of hypocrites. I'll name a few back in the late 60's & 70's the likes of Hugh Scanlon & Jack Jones by the sheer power of their Unions, plus successive Governments being ineffectual in dealing with them bought the country to its knees. They were both scions of the left who purported to hate the political system & in particular the House of Lords. What happened when the retired? They became Lord Scanlon & Lord Jones. Neil & Glenys Kinnock, Neil who of course failed to win elections against both Thatcher & Major. After his failure he was appointed to the position of an EU Commissioner in Brussels. This of course the EU that he hated prior to a Damscene conversion. He was promptly followed by his bat faced wife and the rest of his clan who had their snouts firmly in the EU trough. And after returning, he and Glenys became Lord & Lady Kinnock in the very place he claimed to hate and wanted to abolish, the House of Lords.

And finally I'll offer you John Prescott, a thin skinned, thick as a plank hypocrite who couldn't keep it in his pants, while laughing at Tories and others caught out in similar circumstances. Another who railed about privilege and how he hated the House of Lords. He's now Lord Prescott of Hull.

I think I'm more comfortable being pragmatic, rather than tying myself up in the dogma of the left, and for that matter the far right.

These do-or-dikeys have been spotted numerous times hunting around my cricket club. They have been spotted walking around the field behind where I live and a couple of other local areas. I am not looking forward to the eviction one little bit...

Aneurin Bevan:- "Socialism is the language of ... the politics of science and the future, never the politics of envy or resentment"

Given the choice of believing you or Nye, I think I'll stick with Nye, thanks.:smiles:

Meandering off subject again. Why not answer the bit that asked "What do they contribute to society?"

About the same as you or I do(or anyone else on SZ for that matter).

Are you being serious? You know that's slightly insulting if you are. In fact the comment is so 'out there' that I don't think it even warrants a serious answer. You sir are quite possibly the biggest pillock I've ever come across on SZ, and that's saying something. And yes, that's meant to be insulting and no I won't apologise.

And you sir are a prat of the highest order. And I wouldn't expect someone as ill mannered as you to apologise for their gratuitous rudeness.
Why is it so many of you right wing nutters get your jollies by insulting people you don't know, who are merely expressing an honestly held opinion?

So Barna, and judging by your most recent post you dont know me, do you stand by your "honestly held opinion" that these travellers contribute more to society than me? (Me be an average English bloke)

They take things that don't belong to them. They Fly tip all the time. They are obviously fiddling income tax and also benefits by all the lies about not owning properties or land in England and Ireland. Also the many different names the men use, and the lying about not being married or co-habiting that the women use. They take old peoples savings with their bullying scams. They constantly hold the trains up by nicking the copper cables.

So what do they add to society? Nothing that I can think of. Sorry to but in on Barna's question, but I don't think you will get a proper answer out of him on this subject.

Lets keep the personal insults off the threads please guys..or we will just shut them.

Can't believe the UN have compared it to China and Zimbabwe, this is people on Illegal land , China and Zimbabwe is about a lack of basic rights and to compare Dale Farm to it shows just how weak and desperate the travellers are. Also, I noticed that in the paper (Daily Fail) that they stated that they had homes built/being built in Ireland enough for all but 12 families I think. They can't complain about "culturally sensitive accomodation" any more. The sooner this vermin is off Dale Farm, the better.

I originally meant to say no more(or less)than the average Zoner.
