SUFC: The Future Consortium and Ron exchange contracts... so when will they be signed??

Our hopes and visions for the rebirth of Southend United, plus any plans published by the consortium for discussion
Its the best news we have had in a very long time! Thank you to all the people, at the club, in the consortium, Shrimpers Trust, the various fan groups and everyone else who have put in huge amounts of work, energy, time and emotions to get this done.

Massive relief all round, as it looks like our beloved club is now safe and we have a new chapter to write.

Big question is - what are we going to talk about on the Zone now?

Has everyone

Oh dear. If only you'd gone to the King & Castle in Kidderminster (rather than Top Golfing it) and heard how much first hand peed off Justin is with London Shrimper? Apologies if that relegates you from top rank, old bean.

I have heard anyways, but he was right, and has been questioned and abused once again. No idea what you are getting at in that last sentence.

Merry Christmas.

Seems BBC Essex have a big piece on the club lined up for boxing day - not sure if it was 1pm or 130pm start?
Between 1pm & 2pm they said.

Glenn Speller said that Justin is a big part of the documentary & they've been talking to other "movers & sĥakers" in the consortium who are decent custodians with the best of intentions at their heart.

Going back to the piece the Guardian did on Justin "There’s a 117-year old football club that was big, and is about to be extinct. If I can look back when I’m 70 and think, wow, I helped prevent that, I’ll be very happy.” Pretty well says what we all hope. Think I need a t-shirt with that on!!

Here's a recap for those who missed it.

I am sure some one will find some thing to winge about.

I thought the interview on bbc Essex was exactly what we all needed to hear. The plan to create a sustainable, responsible, and community focused club. JR seemed to be very clear that the club’s long term survival (beyond their tenure too) is their number one priority.

The good times will come

I`m still buzzing from yesterday, after what we have suffered under the 🐀 we are on our way back. Run properly, back to talking about transfer targets, and a consortium with genuine interest in the club. Standing by to get my Eastleigh ticket when they go on sale. Happy Christmas all shrimpers, and it goes without saying that 2024 is going to be a great year. Up The Blues :LoyalSupporter::Happy::LoyalSupporter::Happy:

I wonder who will play the role of Ron 🐀 ?

My best mate has has a really tough year going through a messy separation, so my wife and I took him to London for a Christmas day out. We had just sat in the Christmas market with a beer in hand when I had a quick look to see the score. It was then I saw the long-awaited news. I couldn't help but shout "it's happened" with tears in my eyes! My wife and mate were so happy at the news and it was all cheers and smiles!

What a brilliant Christmas gift!

Shortly after my player sponsor scores ... Oli Coker! Seriously, what an amazing few minutes.

Justin did tell me last weekend it was highly likely to be done just in time for Christmas but didn't want to publicly give a date in case it didn't happen again, so I knew it could be as close as yesterday.

I immediately wattsapped Justin, Tom and Rylee to congratulate them, not knowing Justin had made it to the game, and then continued to order another celebratory round of drinks!

I'm so delighted for the club staff who have been through hell and back, the players and coaching staff, and above all, the supporters. It's our time!!!

What a brilliant day!

Merry Christmas everyone!! 🎅 😀20231223_220024.jpg

Finally threw our plastic rat out that we'd brought home from THAT game before the announcement was made yesterday as I didn't want it sitting by the fireplace like a bad smell over Christmas. Maybe a premonition. Anyway, couldn't be happier that we can get back to being a normal club again.

Thank you Stan, thank you Tom - we couldn't have got here without you two. Thank you to those other clubs who have been so supportive, I know there have been plenty but I will single out Wrexham and York for their particular efforts on our behalf. Thank you to Kev, Darren and Benno for sticking with things, thank you to all the long suffering staff (playing and non) for their efforts throughout and thank you Justin and the consortium for finally giving us our club back.

Ah! @Sensei Phil that was you I was wedged in behind in the BB last week as I recognise Mrs Sensei. Like you I was out yesterday & became a bit emotional.

Same with me as I spoke to Justin & Ian who were confident it could be done but as you say there was no point in posting as it was still up in the air & there were enough ITKs on here spouting cr@p.

Nothing more can really be said about the club staff than to thank them for their massive efforts & huge loyalty. The players & management get to see what they mean to the fans every week but the staff hopefully know we have the same respect for them.
