Ticket News Charlton (H) - FA Cup Round 1 - Sat 2nd Nov - Now on sale

Someone just said that a new bar and toilets are being finished in the NB and hoping that we can then offer Charlton 1800. After the game it will then be available to our fans. Not sure why they havnt at least offered the blue seats anyway which is around 800

They are working hard to tick all the boxes to make the North safe and have facilities for 18OO away fans. Hopefully it will pass. So it would be pointless and a wrong decision to have Charlton in the Blue seats.

Not sure why some on here have decided to whinge on behalf of Charlton. Anyone who really wants to go will buy ticket this week. If it was the other way round and you could only buy on Friday and Saturday. most of us would without fuss.

Because what we are currently able to offer doesn’t meet the competitions rules of allocating 15% of the home sides total capacity to the away side.
From the FA’s website:

‘FA Cup rules allow for an away allocation of up to 15% of the home stadium. "However this is subject to the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG) agreeing to that ticket allocation number.’

If we don’t get the safety certificate for the extra capacity in the North Bank then the SAG won’t agree to Charlton having 15% of the capacity. So I think we’re fine either way.

I agree with the 'most of us' bit, but I suspect the 'without fuss' bit would be stretching a point, this is ShrimperMoanZone after all.

I can't see Charlton starting their full first team for this one. They are in with a shout at a League One promotion push, so that will be their priority. Meaning it increases our chances. If I had to guess, I would say they will start with about half of their first team.

They have Chelsea U21s on Tuesday for their marginal players, expect a strong line-up.

I think he means the blue seats in the North Bank but yes people are making a mountain out of a molehill.

Buying a ticket isn't like it was where you had to take time out of work and queue outside a ticket office. It's all online and done in a matter of minutes. Even if Charlton fans only had 3 days to purchase, it's plenty of time.

I'd have a different stance if we weren't playing such a local club, as they don't have to pay for long distance trains and hotels.

I don't think selling the East-side seats in the North in the interim is any better for the customer experience. It'd be more annoying to buy seats by the corner flag and 2 days later see much better views get released.

The best thing about internet away sales is that the organised early birds get their pick of seats. It's what makes Barnet's system so annoying today. They still like to penalise the earliest buyers with the worst view.

Bump.Still no answers to this.Any ideas?
"I'd like to know what progress the COSU have had in live streaming next Sat's FACup Tie With Charlton? I see the BEEB are planning to show Tamworth against Huddersfield next Fri.night.While that may be of some interest to some people in the Midlands & Yorkshire I doubt whether It'll be of much interest to many in SE Essex or London.Since the camera will be on top of the West stand why not make some additional effort to monetarise the game? After all Yeovil managed it for their tie against us last season?"

Your best bet if you need to know is to email the club.

It clearly states on our ticket portal that "Away tickets are being sold directly through Charlton Athletic"

So looks like we have gone old school and sent them a batch of paper tickets (800 or 1800?), for them to manage sales themselves via their online away sales platform.

Yeovil last year was 4th qualifying round in Oct and was over an international break weekend which meant the 3pm Sat UEFA TV ruling didn’t apply in the UK and the game could be streamed.

This year the Charlton match is 1st rd (where different broadcast contracts apply both domestically and internationally) and is happening when PL & EFL are also on, so it’s out of the clubs hands and no ‘live’ transmission is allowed as it stands.

Occasionally you can get ‘beam back’ arrangements for the away club if there’s demand as these are ‘not for broadcast’.

Makes sense, I guess they have a priority allocation list for bond/season/share holders etc so those that spend more with them get first dibs.
