Ticket News Charlton (H) - FA Cup Round 1 - Sat 2nd Nov - Now on sale

So around 3900 on the counter which is always about 400 short.
Plus 800 odd Charlton
So already around 5k.

Another week of sales looks promising.

I’m very surprised people are buying tickets in the south lower sat in their once had a terrible view of the match
According to the ticket stats we have 98 ST holders in there and the match sales currently showing 99 sold, might be the only stand with 100% ST take up 😃

Game this Saturday but our club (Charlton) still hasn’t made a single announcement about it. Anyone heard any recent whisper on how many tickets we’ll get and when they might go on sale?

Any knowledge of whether it’s Southend delaying or at the Charlton end?

Very frustrating.

Just checked their website it seems we have not told them how many tickets we are going to give them yet
I was told yesterday that we were only going to give them 800 tickets while someone else said that we giving them the whole away end

It’ll be us I’m afraid.

We are trying to sort out being able to allocate 15% of our total capacity to you, but that is requiring bringing areas that had been deemed unsafe (well just doesn’t have a safety certificate) back into use.

Believe we have the safety inspector in on Monday, so hopefully you guys here on Monday. Pricing etc has been set.

It's not at all clever, we would be spitting feathers the other way round. My guess is that the Club is doing all it can to increase the available seats in the North Stand (Away End). I also understand that they will need H&S sign off from the City Council before any remedial work on extra seats is approved. It's going to be pretty tight for you guys to get your tickets. The only good bit there is that our automated ticketing system is quick and reliable.

All that is true, but also the North (east) half is in use, and those tickets could have been made available?

I don’t get why the club can’t release the tickets they can, then if they get the safety certificate release the rest, or am I over simplifying things?

Because what we are currently able to offer doesn’t meet the competitions rules of allocating 15% of the home sides total capacity to the away side.

So what are they going to do if they don't get the safety cert?

We can apply for special dispensation, which may have already been done (or at least wheels in motion just in case).

Southend are in dialogue with both the FA and Charlton on this.

It wouldn’t surprise me if this was it.

Madness of course. We can’t offer 15% unless in the North. So either we get the rest open in time or they will have to agree less than 15% on health and safety grounds. All it is doing is preventing the logical approach of releasing tickets in stages? In the end, as always, inconveniencing the fans due to common sense decision making being strictly verboten. Of course, they could then further inconvenience fans by reducing the overall capacity for home fans as well- would be true to form in terms of their priorities ….regrettably

The club from all accounts doing their very best given unexpected time pressures…

I guess the positive is if we get it open, bar and loos et al, the money from Charlton fans will be subsidising a bit of the cost of something we had to do anyway?

"I'd like to know what progress the COSU have had in live streaming next Sat's FACup Tie With Charlton? I see the BEEB are planning to show Tamworth against Huddersfield next Fri.night.While that may be of some interest to some people in the Midlands & Yorkshire I doubt whether It'll be of much interest to many in SE Essex or London.Since the camera will be on top of the West stand why not make some additional effort to monetarise the game? After all Yeovil managed it for their tie against us last season?"
