Brexit negotiations thread

Consider yourself appropriately staggered then.

You really can't see beyond the hyperbole and exaggeration can you. It must be wonderful to live in such a blinkered and closeted fish bowl.

How is it hyperbole when industries threaten, and in some cases do (Sony for example) leave the UK for Europe? When people who actually live and work in industries that will be affected (such as the Welsh farmer) speak of no-deal being utter madness.

You extreme Brexiteers want this without a thought of how it will impact UK PLC and disregard every doubting voice as "Project Fear".

I trust your job doesn't rely on European imports or a European market?

You just don't get it do you. Those who trade and sell their goods to us now will not all of a sudden stop and put their own industries on the line and that Welsh farmer doesn't know exactly how his farm will be effected because nothing has been officially formulated yet. He's basing his opinions on what he believes to be true. How does he know for sure there will be a 25, 40 or 60% tariff imposed on his exports. No one knows.

My job. Well, my job relies heavily on the price of a barrel of crude oil so yes, indirectly I could be effected. We were straight after June 2016 but we made contingency plans and we've been making those same contingency plans for nie on 6 weeks now and any business worth it's salt has, or should have, been doing exactly that.

Yes any many of them are upping sticks and moving abroad. Genius.

No they are not. Some are, a lot aren't. Get a grip man. As RO has said you are one gullible person. Project fear, or whatever you want to call it has got you right by the knackers and the more it squeezes the more ridiculous you sound.

So some are which means the loss of some (thousands) jobs to British people. You seem to agreeing with me? I was under the impression Brexit would be good for the country, at least that what was promised.

Written by a friend of mine but worth repeating here.....

"Airbus 'could' move jobs out of the UK if it's a hard Brexit. The moon 'could' crash into the planet in the right circumstances.

This from an EU company that is struggling to sell it's costly 380-800 aircraft in a market place and industry it's looking to reduce costs on flights and reducing plane sizes......but that has nothing to do with it......naturally"

And this just sums up the whole sorry state of project fear......

"His remarks were welcomed by Business Minister Richard Harrington, who said Airbus was correct to warn of the dangers of a no-deal scenario.

"Crashing out is a disaster for business," Mr Harrington told a meeting at the German embassy on Thursday morning.

No pressure put to bear there then. :Whistling:

It's all about reading between the lines and not just believing everything put to you because it fits your very blinkered narrative.

Short term pain for some and long term gain for the UK as a whole. There, that better chap?

Labour don't need to derail Brexit, Theresa May has a majority in Parliament due to the DUP but was 230 MP votes short of achieving a Brexit deal. Unless she pulls something spectacular out of the bag in a matter of days then Theresa May has derailed Brexit.

Not on her own she hasn't. The 75% of remain parliamentarians have all had a hand in derailing brexit. Since the day after the referendum remain mp's have colluded to stay in the EU.

Hands up who remembers that loveable little leprechaun Michael O'Leary telling the world he would move his operations out of the UK if we voted Brexit. He even used his planes to promote remain.

Of course as he is now in with the Biderberg group and hates unions, he wants an endless supply of cheap cabin staff from eastern Europe who aren't so aware of their workers rights. The system has worked for him, my mum had more rights when she worked in the 50's than his staff.

Anyway, anyone who voted leave knew he was just bluffing. At the moment there are improvements happening at Southend airport,. I am dealing with some of contractors so I guess you could say part of my pay depends on Europe. .....Guess who is part funding the work but keeping it quiet......Ryanair.

Their work is due to be finished at the end of March...…..If you listen to some of the hysteria on here they will have wasted their money as the Airport will close on March the 29th.
