Brexit negotiations thread

Ok everybody how about we keep the topic on track.

This isn't about Latvia or Labour, no matter how much some people may want to distract from the shambles that is Brexit.

If you want to talk about Latvia start a thread.

And if you want to laugh at Labour there's a thread here.

Apparently, nothing like the necessary 48 Tory MP's have so far submitted letters to the 1922 committee.Unless things change at the weekend/next week (which I doubt), I don't think Mrs May will even have to face a no confidence motion over her Brexit plan, (which I rather imagine she'd win anyway).Turkeys/Tories and Xmas come to mind.

You do interpret things in an odd way, everything I have read on the BBC live reporting you have posted indicates that most people believe it is very close!?

They could have become partisans, fought for Russia or chose a labour camp. Instead they chose Concentration camps.....Not as victims but as enthusiastic and very reliable guards. The very fact they you are trying to excuse their crimes tells us a lot.

No wonder you wont wear a poppy and sneer at the 65% of Southenders who voted out.
In subsequent posts you attack one person for wearing a poppy and one person for not. Why do you have no pride in what you are writing?

According to the BBC:-"More than 20 MPs have called for a no-confidence vote in the prime minister."

More than 20 is not close to 48 in my book.(As I said before), even if the magic 48 figure is reached on Monday, I doubt that Mrs May would lose a no-confidence motion.

Perhaps you have read only the one post on that link then because if you are reading further you would see there are many posts showing tweets and quotes from tories saying that discussions between themselves have got figures very close to the 48 with one suggesting they had been told of 48 that had or were tendering letters with a further 12 making noises that they might. The quote you use is based on the 21 MPs who have made their letters public.

That's right because I think it's the only valid figure.Let's see first if the 48 votes go in.Even if they do, (as I've said),I wouldn't expect Mrs May to lose a no-confidence motion,in any case. Granted the situation is a febrile one but I think what we're seeing is a lot of bluster from right-wing Tory Brexiteers who haven't really got the numbers they claim to have.

Were are not supposed to speak about Labour or Latvia as Yorkshire is probably embarrassed about liking posts by a Nazi apologist.

But as you asked....When Abbott was fully supporting the IRA she publicly stated she would like to see the British army take a kicking in NI. So the fat racist is insulting the dead and their comrades when she pins a poppy on her chest to try con some more squealing leftie remoaners.

Now back to Brexit please gentlemen, Or stick to thinly disguised May Misogyny because that's acceptable.

The use of the word apparently would suggest a speculative post, if you were dealing in facts then why not just provide them? The link provided with many speculative updates suggesting the threshold was very close says to me your choice of link and wording was not great. I share your opinion that May would survive if it does come to this, I think there is a strong possibility of it happening though with the latest reports suggesting a number of MPs discussing it with their constituents over the weekend.

Do you not find it inconsistent to criticise one person for wearing a poppy and one person for not?

It makes it seem like you just want to argue and the basis of your argument is of little importance to you.

Gove has ruled out resigning apparently.

What not a surprise! Michael, I don't know why it took you so long...........maybe to show May's opponents that you were really thinking about it! Rule number one for aspiring leaders of the Tory Party...........don't show disloyalty or stab the present leader in the back. This doesn't usually get you elected leader. Bien joué!................Unfortunately Michael, Tories have long memories and you did stitch up the blond wonder boy. You may as well have been honest to your principles and resigned!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha an even better reason for Gove not to resign:Hilarious:

Steve Baker suggests Brexiters like Gove who haven't resigned from cabinet won't get ERG backing in future leadership contest

I don’t think it’s his policies.

You must concede that his party is incredibly polarising, at the very least.

We’ve got one of the worst Tory leaderships in recent memory, who should have been trounced in the last general election, yet managed to cling on, due to the lack of faith & trust in the opposition.

And it’s not just Corbyn who people don’t trust. It’s the total package, which includes the likes of Abbott & Thornberry. Having those two in any real power, is genuinely worrying.
Ii
Affordable houses, decent wages, and end to austerity? Dreadful isn't it. Need to keep the proles down and the shareholders happy eh?

And as Another SS has often stated, in the last election Labour's manifesto was costed. The Tories wasn't.
If you look up into the sky ,u will c the pigs flying by

Stephen Barclay named new Brexit Secretary

Stephen Barclay has been confirmed as the new Brexit Secretary as Theresa May seeks to fill posts in her cabinet.

The MP for North East Cambridgeshire and Leave supporter had been serving as a minister at the department for health and social care.

Mr Barclay - a former director at Barclays Bank - has also held the posts of City minister and a whip at the Treasury.

A spokesman for No 10 said Mr Barclay will continue preparations for a deal or no deal in his new role.
