Brexit negotiations thread

Utter nonsense of course to try to portray Dyson as some benevolent philanthropistwho has created British jobs.. The facts are these: his vacuum cleaners and washing machines were being made in Malmesbury Wiltshire until he found he could have them made for 30% less in Malaysia resulting in job losses to the local economy. He is only involved in R & D in the UK because of the tax benefits not for altruistic or patriotic reasons. Why do some people admire greedy money grabbers like this.

So your in favour of globalisation and one big bordeless world but anyone who moves there business overseas is a greedy money grabber.

That’s the whole point of Globalisation. We don’t transport slaves anymore, we take the work to the slaves. It’s a much more efficient and profitable system.

The neo Liberal concept of globalisation is totally different from the ideal of a world where there is a level playing field, the Siocialist world order, but then you know that.

Spotlight will fall on why the Conservative Government gave Dyson a £16 million grant to develop his electric car, without guarantees that it would be manufactured and assembled within the UK.

If people are concerned about jobs Let’s hope the spiteful left wing Labour don’t ever win a GE then.

With ‘Merkel’ levels of migration fully encouraged, wages will be down 30% Still at least the evil James Dyson won’t have to move.

No it won't because no one gives a toss. And even if they did it's tomorrows chip paper news.

Obviously it should.I just wonder who you guys are going to blame for the UK economy going down the swanny after Brexit? Not only in the short term but also in the medium term. After all you won't be able to blame it on the nasty EU any more.Or will you? Why not just blame the Tories? After all it was their idea to hold a referendum in the first place to unite the Tory party. That's worked out really well, hasn't it?

But obviously it isn't. Blame that nasty old thing called capitalism. The ruin of Socialism the world over.

I won't be blaming anyone because in my opinion the UK economy won't go down the swanny in the short, medium or any other term. Again, that's just my opinion just as what you've asserted is yours.

Look, I get why your angry I really do. Your political beliefs and ideologies have been dieing on their collective arse for many years and the growth of globalisation and capitalism the world over must be a bitter pill to swallow indeed but it's the way of the world and nothing is ever going to change that.

It's also the opinion of many economists that the softests of deals will wipe billions and and a catastrophic no deal trillions off of UK PLC. It seems to me that many Brexiteers are unable to look reality in the face. And you know who's going to be the hardest hit? Probably the regions that voted heavily in favour of Brexit and part of me thinks, **** you. You voted for this **** storm, you get to reap the whirlwind.

Remember,as Keynes said "in the long term we're all dead". I'll be interested to see what happens in the short term and (a bit of) the medium term. :Winking:

Spiteful in what way?

Merkel is leader of a centre-right Christian party so your comparison doesn't really hold up, its as if you are throwing around random slurs that have no basis in reality.

40% of the vote is not really dying on its arse, it's narrowly missing out on being in government.

You have partly answered your own question.

Companies like Apple should pay tax in Britain at the correct rate for every single sale they make.

Like wise Amazon etc. If you don’t comply, including better workers rights, you don’t trade in the UK..... Yes they will winge but soon cave in. We just need some politicians to grow a pair.

remember Ryan air saying they will cease opporations if we vote Brexit. They posted record profits earlier this year.

We don’t need the EU to protect workers, we all have the power to change things by making our own MP’s responsible

. My mum had better working conditions in the 50’s compared with many workers today. The flood of cheap labour and the brainwashing of far to many ( Globalisation is good for you...It’s such a competitive market etc) has left far to many young people with very little chance of achieving basic western standards in order to make every billionair double their money in less than 10 years.

But taxation is not a EU role - taxation is set by the UK - we've had 20 years to tax multinationals 'correctly' - imho Brexit isn't going to change that. So I'll ask again, how will Brexit enhance the UK's position regarding corporation tax?

For the record I agree large multinationals are playing a game, but I've only seen the EU act to try and stop and this - no UK govt - it's possible Corbyn might but that'd be a leap of faith.

Heard on the radio this morning that neither side want an no-deal and if it's agreed by the EU27, Article 50 will possibly be extended indefinitely. I can see us staying in the EU for a few more years yet, as there is no answer to the NI/ROI issue.

I wonder how many people who voted for Brexit realise what will probably happen regards their rights as employees?

Don't be surprised if holiday entitlement is reduced along with maternity pay & leave, paternity pay & leave and sick pay- and the maximum working hours directive - all introduced under EU laws. Never mind the EU incentives and grants for business which keeps many people employed!

Got a feeling that there will be very many Brexemployees and Brex small business owners who will be gutted once Brexit has taken place and the reality really hits home!

On the other hand.
Don't be surprised if we remain, the EU will take over our tax levels and increase them, increase the pension age even higher, enforce budgets upon our subservient government, introduce conscription into the EU army to reduce youth unemployment and enforce us to accept 1 million refugees every year.
Wonderful future for our younger generation.

The EU never introduced holiday or sick pay. Everyone works longer hours than they did 30 years ago.

The younger generation will be able to vote for exactly what they want. No MP will ever be able to hide behind any EU smokescreen..... That’s why their all s****** themselves. They might just have to stand up and be responsible.

The outlook for youngsters isn't great, they'll probably have to work till their seventies no chance of ever owning their own property, a grossly underfunded NHS system that they probably wont be able to use, and that's if we stay in the EU. If we leave it really cant be any worse for them

The EU Working Time Directive, originally introduced in 1993, gives workers the right to “paid annual leave of at least four weeks”.

That was put into UK law in 1998. At the time, there was no right to a minimum number of paid days off, and the government had tried to stop the EU introducing one.

What is your response to my grants comment?
