Brexit negotiations thread

Ha! I have no plans to do so (remind you of the ending to Silence of the Lambs :winking:) but you never know

So it looks like British nationals living abroad will not be able to move to another EU country after Brexit, meaning Barna could only return to the UK if he left Spain.

We'll see. I'm trusting the EU negotiators to stand up for my (and 1.2m others) rights here and I think they will.

Looking at that summary the main sticking points seem to be the rights of Brits abroad and EU citizens in the UK to continue to have freedom of movement and secondly the status of the ECJ as guarantor of rights. I suspect the EU will have to back down on the later and the UK will back down on the former.

Your remark in post 189 is borderline racist and certainly anti-immigrant.Everyone knows that various languages are spoken in Brussels, as they are in all great European cities, like London,Paris,Barcelona etc.

Multilingualism like multiculturism should be embraced as a postive. It should certaintly not be feared or decried.Your remarks remind me of Farage's imfamous comment about feeling "uncomfortable" in a London train bound for Kent, where he heard languages other than English being spoken.Really what's the problem here?

Get down off the high horse will you? I'm not sure how you managed to get "borderline racist and certainly anti-immigrant" from a question about a couple of languages that "everyone knows" are spoken in Brussels anyway and then go on to assume that I have a problem with the same. It's certainly not from post 189 (because there isn't one yet) and not from any of my others either.

You really do have a habit of going off at spectacularly incorrect tangents and it says way more about you than anyone else.

Because, as has been said many many times before. You don't live here and haven't for many many years so you have no real clue what it's like to live and deal with the socially divisive issues that multiculturalism brings. You only know what you read in your left wing one sided media and what and who you choose to listen to. Neither of which come remotely close to living with and experiencing it.

I can't wouldn't and don't comment or pretend to know what it's like living with Spain's many social faults because I don't live there. Likewise, neither can you on the UK's.

Spain reduced their social faults over the years by allowing the church to steal 300,00 babies from single mothers by telling them they had died just after child birth and then selling them to wealthy families (see panorama documentary)

Not only has Tangled benefitted social from this wonderful piece of Spanish culture but he has also profited as he worked for the very organisation that run the whole scam....Opus Dei.

Keep it to yourself because the clones in Brussels don't like anyone to mention it.

Clearly I meant post 169.(Not that I usually have a problem with soixante-neuf.:winking:)

You clearly do have a problem with the fact that Turkish and "Moroccan" are widely spoken in Brussels, despite the fact that as every schoolboys knows, French is the official language there.Otherwise why would you even mention it? Since, as "everyone knows[/B[", Brussels has a large immigrant population these days.
FWIW,people from these communities can also be seen and heard in one part of Beziers that I'm familiar with too.So what?

Your original comment was Xenophobic and anti-immigrant if not racist as such.

Btw,"Moroccan" is not a language though Moroccan Arabic is.

Back to your non sequiters I see.

FYI,the UK doesn't have a blameless reputation in the "forced child migration" area either.

BTW,I never worked for Opus as such.Merely a business school owned by them.

I live here and feel no threat when two dusky skin men speak in Arabic or Pashtu or Punjabi or Hindu or Urdu or Polish (if they've got a bit of sun) because it's compete paranoia if you think that a) They're talking about you or b) They're plotting to destroy western civilisation.

It's only divise if you feel threatened. And I don't. And I live in an area of MK that has a lot of Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Polish (and no doubt a myriad of other nationalities) families....their is a community spirit, a lot of community events and I celebrate that rather than being frightened by it.

But none of them helped you with the fridge.

Well every UK bank using London Euroclearing will be making such contingency plans. Why does the sequencing of the announcements matter?

I suggest you read the article:-

"The question isn’t if Brexit is going to damage the UK’s financial services industry. It is how bad will that damage be."
