Brawn GP

Why they couldnt of just left it as it was with Trulli in 3rd with his points and Hamilton in 4th with his points is beyond me! I thought Vettel's punishment was a joke aswell.

But just wait for the biggy that will come soon when this diffuser row comes to and end and Ferrari get their own way. Brawn will be stripped of all their points! Which is a complete and utter joke and I think I will consider giving up watching the sport if that happens.

This year I was hoping for some credibility but this season we've already had Diffusers rows, Toyota starting from the pits and now this with Hamilton/McLaren. Sunday was a cracking race but they can't keep messing about with the results 4 days later if they want to win fans over!

Glad I didn't bother watching it live now, I always used to stay up for the Aussie GP but this was the first time for years I didn't bother. I doubt I will watch any of the other F1 races. Might watch a bit of the BTCC starting this Sunday but even that has gone rule book crazy as well.

BBC Interactive have excelled themselves. They've managed to get hold of the so-called offending pit-crew radio communication. In this you can clearly hear the McLaren engineer say "Okay, Lewis, let's play this by the book."

At no time has there been any deliberate attempt by Lewis or McLaren to mislead any stewards. It is simply a clear-cut case of anti-McLaren prejudice. Whilst there is little point in appealing, and little chance Hamilton will attain such a good position again this season, I hope Brawn GP's dominance sticks in their craw.

You may have jumped the gun here Groyney, looks like Hamilton did lie:

LEWIS HAMILTON last night said sorry for lying to race officials and admitted: This is the worst day of my life.
The Formula One world champion was close to tears as he revealed the toll the incident in Australia six days ago had taken on him.

And Hamilton apologised to the sport, after revealing McLaren sporting director Dave Ryan — suspended by

the team yesterday — had told him deliberately to mislead the race stewards in Melbourne

Nope. It transpires that in the stewards meeting, Lewis was explaining what was going on and Dave Ryan cut across him and took over the conversation.

Hamilton in no way deliberately tried to mislead the stewards. It was the McLaren employee who had done that. That is the objective view, too, of David Coulthard, Eddie Jordan and Anrhony Davidson.

Lewis, however, as the on-track McLaren representative, has to take the on-track McLaren punishment.

Media outlets, though, have their own agendas, and what will sell more, seeing a McLaren race engineer lied or that the world champion lied?

I'm always reminded of the phrase "truth has no copyright" when reading anything from a media outlet. After all, such outlets always come complete with copyright symbols .....

What did I say!! If you had of stuck Button in Hamilton's car last season we would of had a different world champion. Go Button Go!!!

Ricey this is the last thing you need to be dragging up. You came across as a total knob-jockey at the end of last season and comments like this aren't goin to help your cause!!

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinon, seeing as this is a public forum! I am just saying this season is proving my point exactly. Jenson Button is a quality driver and if he had of been in the Mclaren last season he would of been world champion!

Button was in a very good Honda car 4/5 years ago and he still wasn't World Champion. This year he could be in with a shout again but I can see the big guns like Ferrari making up ground as the season progresses.

I think Flavio got it a bit wrong when he told you this years Renault would be a world beater!

Spot on Kenny. I don't know whats gone wrong with them, and there is a few others lacking like the Ferrari's. I cannot believe Massa didn't even get to Q2 what a plumb!

The difference is that when Jenson had a dog of a car he remained at the back of the grid (Bennetton, Honda). The first time Lewis has a dog of a car he puts it on the podium.

Different class, mate, different class. Put Lewis in this year's Brawn and nobody could get within a lap of him.

When was that? Was that when he lied?

I don't doubt he is a great driver and everyone knows my views. I just hate all the biast towards him and hope that Jenson Button takes the title this year. Can't see my favourite Alonso taking it with this "World Beating" Renault!

Dont think thats the view of Brundle and form what Ive seen on the BBC site Hamilton clearly helped in trying to mislead the stewards, and at the same time trying to steal a point form Toyota.

Cheating is shameful, Hamilton has messed up, at least he is big enough to admit it.

Then perhaps your ire should be aimed at the media, Ricey, for the hysterical overhype that they indulge in whenever a British sportsperson does well, rather than being somewhat grudging in your respect of a driver that petrolheads, fellow drivers and team owners alike agree has a truly God given talent.

It appears, however, that much like the media some people have their own agendas .....

1 race and a quali in, do the Brawns look like one-shot-wonders? I'm thinking no. Q1 they almost took the qualifying lap record.
