Just another load of BS on twitter. He was at training today.

Amazes me anyone takes anything on twitter seriously. Some numpty sees someone who looks like someone, and its guess who I have just seen coming out of here or there, or doing that..

I am sure if you want you can find someone who has just seen him entering the Emirates stadium..

No - I can assure you that I saw him propping up the bar in The Hope Hotel on The Golden Mile ..............:omg:

So, what is the situation with Nile Ranger?

He's currently injured,
His one month contract expires soon,
He's had little 'game time' to prove if he can cut it in Lge 1,
He's a very talented player,
He's also a possible liability,
We don't have a lot of options now that Murray has gone....

Seems to have avoided controversy, so does this mean he gets the full season contract or not? Anyone know... I hope he stays, as I'd be really interested to see him up front with Cox !

id give him another month see how it goes, might even get fit.

Classy joint that. I would have said that you could have asked him to show you his lip tattoo to prove that it was actually him but in The Hope most of the regulars have got a bit of ink going on above the neckline anyway. Actually I don't think you get served at the bar without it.

Having spoken to him and seen him play 45 mins at Wakering , he showed his undoubted skills and would be a great asset to the team if he behaves, gets fit and tries hard.

I spoke to him last night and he said he didn't know if he was staying.

Indeed he might not know whether he is staying or not - I suspect that conversation between Mr Brown and Mr Ranger (and/or his agent) will be scheduled to take place soon ................

........... or Nile does know and is being a sensible lad and not putting out the news before it has been announced by the club.

Either way, we (on here) are clueless .....................:omg:

No doubting his ability - guess his behaviour will depend on whether he has grown up, and sees that he has a future at SUFC?

what was your perception of him? Has he grown up, does he have the intellect to succeed and does he want it that bad??

I'd imagine the injury and missing out on the Newcastle game must be a blow for him, so the test of his resolve will determine if he makes it, surely just being with the squad is enough incentive and seeing what he could miss out on if he blows it again?

Sign him up
sign any player up
sign some ****er up...

an absolute embaresment of a pre season and an indication of just how much of a mess this club is in, it's just unfortunate 'this club " is my club, our club....

I managed to speak to him for a few minutes, explained who I was and he said he wants to do well for Southend.

TBH he said the right things -- whether he meant it, only time will tell (or not).

He gave an honest answer.

Its down to him in a way (he has to knuckle down, show his ability, keep his nose clean) but in reality its PB who decides on 1st August whether to use the get out clause or trigger the extension into a long term contract. PB will wait to Aug 1st to make that decision.

Unless something completely unexpected happens between now and then I fully expect him to stay (which is probably one of the reasons why Ronan Murray was let go).

I suspect the contract and terms are already in place so the discussion with Nile and the agent is yes we are a triggering the contract or no off you go. Be amazed now if it were the latter.

I very much disagree.

I know there are many who wanted "mass signings" early on in the season but I never thought that would be easy to achieve.

We seem to have made some decent signings to date and I am quite positive that another couple will be with us in the coming weeks.

It's a shame about the injuries as that leaves us a little light but that is the way it is.
