The honeymoon is over then. Don't know whether to laugh or cry. Assume there are clauses in his long contract that give us a way out if this proves to be the start of something bigger?

It appears a mere minor indiscretion, no need to panic.

I'll tell that to my HR department. I'm all for innocent until proven guilty but this would result in instant dismissal for me (if found guilty). It's a bit like the Inland Revenue. Football seems to act in a world that the rest of us don't.

You say that, but hasn't your employer been done for that themselves...

We must have known about this and, being so long ago, I don't think we can tarnish the hard work NR has put in whist here. Let's hope it's more of an Innis sentence than a Timlin

Knew it was too good to last. Can't Ron just pay the victim some compensation and let's forget about it

Offences were alledged to have taken place in February 2105 not this year

No problem... we've got another 90-odd years before we start to worry. By then I reckon Ranger will also be fully fit but no doubt a lot less mobile as he will be in his hundreds...

You'd better hope they don't find out you are a Southend fan then.

When we signed Nile the club knew that he been in trouble in the past. I am not condoning his (alleged) actions but they date back to February 2015 long before his association with SUFC.

The club have stood by the likes of Hall and Timlin who were convicted whilst with the club so I cannot see why they should not stand by Ranger for actions carried out nearly 2 years.

Ranger looks to be turning his life around and I see no benefit in punishing him beyond any correctly applied legal remedies for actions taken in the past.

As long as he pays his fine with his own money and not that which he 'obtained fraudulently' , then I'm ok with it......
