The good thing about this thread apart from YB slashing the humor from it is it may help older shrimpers on here of which there are many not get scammed as this is a scam ive never heard of and really a very simple one.

It does leave a bad taste in the mouth, but is there any point sacking him? It would put him in a worse place. Nile, take the punishment and try to be a better man.

totally agree! the past is the past we've all made mistakes (granted he has a very long list) but take the punishment and move forward and become a better human being!

It's difficult to know what to say - those of us without sin should cast the first stones ............. and I am on here to talk about footie rather than things like this.

Having said that it seems it was not a nice thing to do - as M.K. Shrimper says Nile needs to take the punishment that is handed down to him with as much dignity and humility as he can muster.

Whilst not defending Nile for this foul and criminal behaviour, perhaps it took place when he was not right in his mind? His admittance will help him in a lesser punishment. Many people have made bad decisions at bad times of their lives....and this seems like one of them. It is certainly nothing that can be swept under the table. Taking advantage of a vulnerable person is morally bankrupt and criminal indeed. But perhaps he has changed since then, and this is his past catching up and maybe he (having paid whatever penalty is given) deserves help and support for the change?

Give the man a chance I say, if he retains his freedom in April, keep him on. I cant believe I am saying this being a traditionalist but surely he must be given a chance to prove he can reform? COYBB

Tricky one, easy to say a leopard never changes his spots, plus many of us would no doubt be screaming abuse at him if he was playing for an opponent.
Seems to me that Nile has associated himself with some very bad people in his past and they have led him astray.

Why are we making this so difficult ?

If he scores 20 goals for the remainder of the season and we go up , he is a reformed character , we all love him and we forget the past.
If he fails to hit the net and we languish mid / lower table , he is scum and we should sack him as a leopard never changes its spots !

It's simple !
