But people keep saying in Luggy we trust and i agree. Over the past two seaons he has signed some really good players and from no team and relegation candidates we finshed mid table. He had a small clear out and bought in better players and we finished 4th. Does anyone argue with the list ( although unconfirmed) of players released in the summer. If for example we do sign the likes of Eastwood, Hurst and a few others of that quality Luggy would have once again strengthend the squad. I have seen Smith play numerous times and he has done ok and if PS feels he is the right man then we must trust his judgment.

Now he just needs to sign the Timlin we had on loan at the beginning of last season.

As for the keeper, surprised no one's mentioned Ben Alnwick.

Dare i point out that Luke Daniels played in L2 last season (with Southend)
, and therefore has also played for Luggy before...so meets all the criteria and would be a step up from what we let go (and hence arguably make sense)??

Regrettably looks like Daniels has just got married and buggered off to Maurtuis for a few weeks.....so not do likely..

Will probably be Smith, not overly enthused if it is. We should have been pulling out all the stops to get Daniels.

Selfish git.......
Seriously , I guess that Steve Clarke will want to take a first hand look at all his players , so doubt any chance for loan until January.

Alnwick

Sex tape scandal On 7 December 2006, tabloid newspaper The Sun reported Alnwick, along with team-mates Chris Brown and Liam Lawrence had filmed themselves in an orgy with a brunette girl referred to as 'Stevie'. In the video, Brown films his team-mates perform sexual acts on the girl as well as themselves, and is said to give "Match of the Day" style commentary throughout. Former Sunderland midfielder Martin Woods also features on the tape partially clothed, along with two other men. In reference to the watching men, Brown reportedly comments “Here’s the boys — the watching faithful — every week without fail.”

Asked some Swindon fans on twitter. All said the same that Smith played best under Luggy, not very vocal need a good vocal CB in front of him. And he's a 'confidence player' who needs the fans behind him. Makes me think of a Steve Mildenhall player that needs fans backing but never got it for most of his first season.

Sounds more like Rhys Evans than Mildy.

Evans was a real confidence player.

Oh to have Mildy back though. That save for Chelsea was probably as good as anything since Roycie somehow denied Edinho and Mildy was an all-round keeper and not just a shot stopper.

Mildy has only made 15 appearances for Milwall in his 2 seasons there. Contract runs out next summer i believe though.

I remember when we first signed him, i was neighbours with Parms, and before we had played any games that season we were chatting, and he said from what he'd seen from working with him we had got ourselves a very good all-round goalkeeper.... quite right he was too!

Very true, he was a very good keeper for our level but to be fair he wasn't in Feds/Roycey's class.....

Let's just wait and see - everyone wrote Belford off when we signed him, but after a few games he became a fan's favourite.

Hall is in talks with Swindon and Peterborough with a deal set to be completed next week.

Also Kane Ferdinand is deep in talks with west ham, no deadline is known on this deal.

However Mohsni is set to stay and David James is set to sign for us in the next few days.

David James! Yeah right. God you'd think these morons would at least come up with a believable rumour.
