I guess you're not going to like this then, Barna, but I'm afraid you're wrong. Tampa Blue did not "resurrect this thread immediately after the Plymouth game". I resurrected it 24 hours after the Plymouth game, because I found an interesting article about Barry Corr's return in the paper. You ignored that completely and added five posts about neg rep and defending your previous comments about Corr before Tampa Blue added one single post yesterday. The one post you did add which had anything to do with my post showed you hadn't even bothered to read it!

My apologies.I did read your article though.
(Btw, I don't spend 24/7 on SZ especially at the Weekend).:smiles:

Given the rate at which you churn out erroneous nonsense, I think you actually might.

I can't for the life of me understand why anybody wouldn't want a fit and able Barry Corr in the side, particularly given the quality of Hurst's delivery and Clohessy's diagonal balls. It's the equivalent of turning down a Ferrari in the hope of somebody else coming along with a Lamborghini.

The 64,000 dollar question is when will we have a fit and able Barry Corr available for selection? Certainly not for the next three matches.
Love the idea of Barry as a Ferrari btw.:hilarious:

Corr was an idiot to get sent off, but why anyone wouldnt want a 20+ goal a season striker at the club is baffling.

He played 47 games season before last without getting sent off so hardly a common occurence.

OK, here's a simple question Barna. Would you have a fully fit Corr in the team or would you rather he never played for the club again?

I don't have a problem with Corr but is it the case that apart from the 20 plus goals he scored in 2010/11 when previuosly beforehand was he as consistent? He is a good player and One I'd hang onto IF consistently fit but I do think as far as strictly 20plus goals is concerned that campaign was a one season wonder.

He's been on the pitch for 20 odd minutes this season and already scored one goal. I see no reason why a now (almost) fit Barry Corr cannot score a fair few goals this season.

I don't know. As someone who is a Southend fan I'm only concerned with what players have done in a Southend shirt. Perhaps you're not the same.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm a Southend United "nut" or a "die-hard" but I enjoy football in general. Not really attached specifically to one team but read about things to with Blues more so than anyone else as it's the local side.

Let's wait and see how long it is before we see a fully fit Corr ready to start a match again.Remember he's only under contract until the end of the season.

I have acknowleged what he did in his first season. And yes if he plays regularly he will chip in with his share. But I don't think it will be more than 20.

Doesnt have to be more than 20

10-15 would be a great return and more than most strikers we have had.

181 posts in a month + numerous private messages to other members on a site for a club you dont support ?

I dont get it...

For the first time ever, I gave someone neg rep last week, for what I saw as a pretty foul and abusive personal comment on another poster. That post was subsequently deleted by one of the mods. For my troubles I immediately received a 'tit-for-tat' neg rep, accompanied by further abuse. I found that quite amusing, as it confirmed my ideas of the kind of person this individual was and, in my my mind anyway, someone who just resorts to personal abuse has lost the argument before it's even begun.

What a load of bollocks.

BBBC doesn't even need to be fully fit to wreak havoc in League Two.

Just look at his match(season?)-changing appearance against Exeter, not to mention Darren Purse collapsing in sheer awe of his God-like strength when barely touched.

BBBC is clearly a walking/limping legend; a fact verifiable by anyone who's actually watched him play for the mighty Southend on more than the occasional goal-scoring time that you have.

Alas, your ill-informed, mistaken, contrarian comments on the deity that is BBBC reflect more upon yourself than the legend himself.

Looks like Corr has picked up a groin injury at Witham. Jam you can't have it both ways. Before I was being told what is the point of me being on here as allegedly I was not a Blues supporter and as I claim, accurately I might add, I'm a football fan in general you now say that you can't believe I don't support Blues. The general footie enthusiast that I'am, as well as playing amateur stuff as well, I enjoy talking or writing about it as and when I can. Yes I have done many PM'S but then by doing it this way it saves me from a whole load of dsogs abuse if I say something anyone disagrees with me with. As well as replying to people to find out why exactly why I've has abuse thrown at me in PM's. You may do the same jam if you were on receiving end of this. And yet some o here vent their spleen in this way then claim how it shouldn't happen in the forum. No doubt further comments will join the endless list of comments on my neg rep page upon reading this. This is not a sarcy post BTW but just putting my point across.

Well the first line was Corr related. The rest, god knows, but not Corr related in the slightest

The simple answer is never. He scored 17 goals over 5 seasons with 102 appearances, picking up 4 red cards whilst so doing.

However, his most recent season was his most prolific by a huge margin and in Corr we have someone at the peak of his goalscoring unlike, say, Benyon.

When you made your infamous call on his ability, he was averaging a mere goal every 90 minutes in games you had seen him play, this year he is averaging a goal every 43 minutes.

This suggests an upwards trend. Indeed, he may not have even reached his peak.

Just goes to show "there are lies, dammed lies and statistics." Especially where BBBC is concerned.:winking:

At least he'll be completing his 3 match ban tomorrow and will presumably be back on the bench next Saturday. That way he'll be earning whatever he's paid again.
