Reporting on Sky Sports Twitter that we have rejected a bid from Peterborough for Kane Ferdinad... interesting!

I'd imagine it would be a small bid to test the water! Could spark other interest too

Yea, so heres a debate.... Is he that good and do we let him go?

Its an area we are well covered in and if we can get what... £250k up front (rising to £750-£1m depending on a lot of things - or a large sell-on), then I'd say take it and spend the money elsewhere.

:hilarious:

On a serious note, do we know what are Kane's wages are like?

Cant help but think he'll be off before the start of the season, we have a lot of central midfielders to keep happy and surely Ron wont turn down a reasonable transfer fee. Would be a shame to see him go but not the end of the world.

Is Peterborough really that much of a step up?

Slogging it round Lg2 or playing in the Championship?...

Go to Posh, prove yourself in the Champ and then move onto a bigger club - prob guaranteed a game each week. If he goes to anyone much bigger would he? Are West Ham going to sell Scott Parker and replace him with Ferdinand? :nope:

You like that? I'm here all week....

If *some* of it goes towards securing Ricketts + A.N. Other striker, then happy days.

Got to agree here. With grant, N'Diaye, sawyer and as some said RR (if we get him in) then there is good cover in the midfield and if that means we do get RR and then still have enough to bring in a good, pacey striker that we've been looking for then I would say take the money but only if it's a decent sum.

Although I would like to keep Kane as he has shown great potential and don't want to be a club that sells their best young players. And previously we have sold the likes of Moussa, Kightly to name 2, and they have gone on to play at championship level (and higher).

Debatable whether we're well-covered there. I'd say there are only 4 central midfielders who are up to week-in, week-out first team football at the moment (Grant, Ferdinand, Sawyer, N'Diaye), and if PS plans on playing 433 in half of the matches, 4 is the leasr he'll need. Besides, no-one else in the centre of midfield protects the back 4 like Kane does and I think he's essential for a promotion push.

I was about to post this almost word-for-word; only adding that you would be sold on at Peterborough to a bigger club for a vastly hyped-up Barry Fry fee, so that'll just about sell the move to Kane's agent.

He is still very much learning his trade. I don't think he will get a game every week, even at Posh, and they are only gonna yoyo back to L1 next season. He may as well stay here, get games under his belt and play in L1 with us next season.

I agree. Kane is a natural fit for the 4-3-3. I really hope we can keep hold of him somehow.

We didn't sell moussa and Kights did we? Kights was released (wrong!) and Moussa left due to the wages issue.

I see Ricketts in CM as a waste. Winger, behind the front 2 or a striker, but not really a CM.
