Cheesy but great.
The Live Lounge series and Saturday Sessions are pretty good for uncovering good covers.
Cat Power- Satisfaction (The Rolling Stones). you'd think removing the chorus from one of the most successful rock songs of all time would be a no-no, but it works rather well.
Tell you what though, I have never ever heard a good cover of a Queen song and it is normally a career killer once you have done it.
A cover version from Ryan (not Brian) Adams is exceptional in my opinion and well worth a listen

Nice - always wanted to hear that slowed down.
But would you go and watch a covers / tribute band ?
Locally Bif Bam Pow do good mod/ Soul covers and Swindle did a great punk covers set. but Tribute bands (I'll admit I have only seen one Eagles trib act, T Rextasy and The Gift) leave me cold
Swindle were ok, I was in a similar band at the same time in Kent called, Vince Vortex and the Cucumbers...we used to get full houses...
SNIDE started off as a covers band, but I got bored with it, so now only doing originals.
What bands have you been in in the past ? (BCR excepted)
Allegiance To No-One
...
I recognise that name, mainly from the Southend Punk website
Thats the baby, yea, we got a few mentions on there..no pics of me to, bastoids!..we used to play in the early 80's...
We were around at the same time as Kronstadt Uprising, Synix, and Autumn Poison...but they were mostly anarchy driven bands...we were more 2nd wave punk (in the style of GBH, Peter and Test tubes etc). We signed to ROT records, and we had a chance on a UK tour, but the guitarist and singer decided that FT music wasnt for them....band split.
Do you know Steve Pegrum?
