Best cover songs??

'Bohemian Rhapsody' - Bad News

Serious green for that!

One of the most brilliant covers of all time!

:)

Always been a big fan of Incognito's cover of "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing"... I like it at least as much as, if not more than, Stevie's original. Sticking with Stevie, Coolio's "Ganstas Paradise" is a pretty good cover (since it is, essentially, a cover of "Pastime Paradise").

Whisper it- but a version of 'Suspicious Minds' by (ahem) Gary Glitter, from an album compiled by The British Electric Foundation in '83 called 'Music of Quality and Distinction,' is rather fine...

'umberella' and 'suicide is painless'......both by the manic street preachers

Thats the baby, yea, we got a few mentions on there..no pics of me to, bastoids!..we used to play in the early 80's...

We were around at the same time as Kronstadt Uprising, Synix, and Autumn Poison...but they were mostly anarchy driven bands...we were more 2nd wave punk (in the style of GBH, Peter and Test tubes etc). We signed to ROT records, and we had a chance on a UK tour, but the guitarist and singer decided that FT music wasnt for them....band split.

Do you know Steve Pegrum?
I think I do/did- his teenage incarnation, at any rate- stocky, protuberant front teeth, freckles, fancied himself a bit & lived in Leigh?

Some of those Rolf Harris covers are hilarious- Stairway To Heaven, Walk On The Wild Side and... amazingly, Bohemian Rhapsody! Remember seeing Bernard Manning doing Girlfriend in a Coma on 'The Word' (circa '92-'93) which was laugh out loud fantastic...

Something Else - Sid Viscious
My Way - Sid Viscious
English Civil War (traditional tune) - the Clash

C'mon Everbody also a fine cover by Sid Vicious of the Eddie Cochrane original.

The English Civil War tune is the same as that used for "When Southend United come out to play, sing up"

Hey: now there was a band! Did a rather good cover of 'Jocky Wilson Said' too...
ps I know it was Jackie W, but anyone remember the TOTP backdrop of the song-and-darts man?

yea, a minor **** up on the BBC's behalf
