I've been following this forum for a while now whilst the Fred saga was going on.There have been several Wolves fans who have come on here with the best intentions but have met a lukewarm response.

Why is that? Why do you appear to have such an irrational hatred of us? Even more peculiar is your apparent 'love in' with Charlton.:o

There was a time when I empathised with you-particularly after we lost our 'jewel' in Lescott this time last year.However,your attitude towards us is laughable-indeed bordering on embarrassing particularly when we're not rivals in any shape or form.

So a couple of people's personal opinions have led you to take time out and register on SZ, and post that? There have been many people on here who have favoured Fred to got to Wolves, but you seem to have overlooked that fact.

I've no beef with Wolves, and I of course wish Fred all the best, but you are one very sad individual.

To be fair, I've nothing against Wolves, it's just that most Shrimpers like Charlton more. It's nearer, so some of us would no doubt have gone to see Fred there, Sir Chrissy Powell is back there, and hes a legend here.

Anyway. You've no idea how lucky you are. You're a good team, and he's made it even better. You think Kightley's good? We got released him because he wasn't good enough at the time. We really wanted to keep Freddy, even though we had no chance. I'm gutted, even though it was inevitable.

i think people want whats best for freddy and IMO and the opinion of many other southend fans charlton is the best move for him, they are a bigger club and have morew chance of getting into the premiership also they are quite local and easy for us to make the short journey to watch GOD play footy again. I haven't seen any real bad attitude to your fans in fact there was some banter. A fan of yours asked abouthim we sent responses. There is no hate between you and us we'd just prefer fred to stay local and have the best possible career.

At the end of the day, it is a shame (no disrespect Wolves fans) that he's ended up going to Wolves. After the United game he could've and should've kicked on and got his move to the Prem. For whatever reason the limelight seemed to get him and he wilted after that.

Charlton IMHO will have a better chance of going up than yourselves, which is probably why we'd have preferred him to go there. Plus, it just seemed on paper like the perfect move for him.

Good luck to him and Wolves though. You've done brilliantly to make Kightly what he is now so McCarthy should be able to improve Freddy as well.

i think that says it all... if you are from another club (especially one who is looking to sign arguably our best ever striker) and you start posting on this board then you are going to be met with a lukewarm reception... just as i would expect to receive if i started posting on your board. to be honest i think some of the wolves fans have been made to feel welcome and we have had some good discussion as well as a bit of banter.

i think that most of the people on this board would have preferred fred to have gone to charlton because it is common knowledge that pardew has been a fan of his for years and with charlton being much closer then it is probably more likely that fred would settle down and be able to commute.

i don't begrudge him going to wolves, i think mccarthy is an average manager but has got some good players in and fred definitely needs that step up before getting into the prem (of which im sure he could make an impact with the right team).

to be honest i wish you boys all the best next season and to give fred a good chance... he finished the season pretty poorly (well was injured) and so may take a bit of time toget up to speed).

Because one or two like to be irrational from my postings on here It does not reflect the majority, If I get irrational comments I ignore if I get a discussion I join in like I do on any forum
