'Fan' last night

yes i know the person in question and it would have been for a laugh.

however, i do not condone this sort of thing to be carried on throughout a game, it would have caused a lot of hurt to the player and his family to go through the ordeal.

it is a statement made that is implying the decision of not guilty was wrong. well, its like going through an american airport saying that one of your mates has a bomb when you know they haven't. it will result in issues.. that is what has happened here and really something should have been done at the game to put a stop to it early doors..

Fair point - there is no conclusive proof that this was spawn of Ginge - though if someone posted the Echo picture up those witnesses to alleged events would know if this thread was discussing the same person.

If there is conclusive evidence then I think we have every right to make the comments personal whether people are here to defend themselves or not. If not then we should just be directing it generally at those that think such behaviour is acceptable to let them know that the vast majority fundamentally disagree.

The chanting one is difficult. I found the occassional "touch of a rapist" chant amusing but the general yardstick I prefer to use is - are the actions (verbal, physical etc) something that would be tolerated outside the confines of a football stadium ?

In most cases those "gesticulating in a masturbatory fashion" (a phrase once quoted to me when I was evicted from Craven Cottage*

) and taunting the away fans certainly wouldn't do it outside the ground, unless they were in the comfort of numbers and had spotted an exit route for when the sh*t hits the fan.

* I should add this was directed at one of our own players for missing virtually an open goal from two yards.

Not Gridelet by any chance?

And we slag off the managers and the players who can't defend themselves on here. Why not the fans?

Well it certainly wasn't the living legend Mr McDonut.

I'm agreeing with CSJ's point. Unless there is conclusive proof that this incident relates to Ginge's son then accusations are unfounded and unwelcome directed at an individual. Using evidence of previous misdemeanours is not a qualification.

If someone recognised him from the picture in the Echo then we should open both barrells.

By and large, the players aren't being accused of crimes.

Well, not crimes by our legal system, at least.
