The Flying Scotsman
Gaffer
It was the same group in the pub that were doing the chanting.
You didn't have the tw*ts standing in front of you!![b said:Quote[/b] (OlvisIII @ Feb. 17 2005,11:53)]although monotonous, and anybody upset by this is going a bit OTT.
If it offended you so much why didn’t you go and stand somewhere else?[b said:Quote[/b] (The Flying Scotsman @ Feb. 17 2005,12:09)]You didn't have the tw*ts standing in front of you!![b said:Quote[/b] (OlvisIII @ Feb. 17 2005,11:53)]although monotonous, and anybody upset by this is going a bit OTT.

agreed[b said:Quote[/b] (TrueBlue @ Feb. 17 2005,08:49)]thats your opinion but not everybody may share that[b said:Quote[/b] ]I'm afraid I find the behaviour of many of our "fans" embarrassing
The chanting was vaguely amusing the first time but to go on for 45 minutes was just boring and showed how thick these individuals are.[b said:Quote[/b] (OlvisIII @ Feb. 17 2005,11:53)]I thought this thread was about the chanting. The antics FBM describes is unacceptable and gives the blues a bad name. The chanting during the match is all part of modern football whether you like it or not. Having stood on the terraces I noticed the chants aimed at Agogo (Hard to miss). The first time the chant went up it was after a particularly awful touch by Junior and I found the chant "touch of a rapist" quite ironic. It was not just a few fans who who singing at him, the majority of the terraced support joined in this, it is unfair to single out a few. FBM has got it spot on when saying that professional footballers have a good lifestyle and have to accept they will get stick. The fact he got cleared is irrelevent, how many times do fans call a referee a "w*n*er" for a decision he makes, when seeing later on it was the correct decision? Do the spectators feel any guilt about being offensive to the refs? The singing was just flippant, although monotonous, and anybody upset by this is going a bit OTT. The mind games is part of the game, who knows, this might have played a part in him missing the penalty. The behaviour FBM speaks about is not acceptable and any which causes distress to the local people of Bristol. They are not all attached to the football club.
Well you were until you started to lose your voice ...[b said:Quote[/b] (sufc_stu @ Feb. 17 2005,12:37)]Who me, never!!![b said:Quote[/b] (The Flying Scotsman @ Feb. 17 2005,12:35)]No need. Exactly, and that's why the chanting on Tuesday should have had a very short shelf life IMHO.[b said:Quote[/b] (Bob Cratchitt @ Feb. 17 2005,13:29)]Of course the more inventive and amusing the better chant the likelihood that it will have longevity.
[b said:Quote[/b] ]i found the chanting highly amusing to be honest, maybe i need to grow up. However what did he expect, innocent or guilty when has that ever mattered to a football fan, ive supported the club for many years and have heard a lot worse chanted at opposition players.
To be honest it didnt sound as if it was the minority chanting either
Hmmmmm.[b said:Quote[/b] (BoyWonder2 @ Feb. 17 2005,14:03)]Agogo was cleared of attempted rape and therefore should be abused.
