Well said buddy, exactly my and a shed load of supporters view !
Really, enough is ENOUGH! This whole business is just getting bloody ridiculous. I haven't got time to research it but exactly how many other League One sides are running around at the last minute, like headless chickens, attempting to complete their squad???? Surely someone has screwed up BIGTIME here. Even if we make signings tomorrow it still smacks more of last minute desperation than calculation.........I'm becoming a big time doubter of all this b******s about sensitive and difficult negotiations slowing the process up.
Eenie meenie miney mo............who's c****d up, is it Phil or is it Ron???? Either Ron hasn't been backing PB as he should have been with his signings. Otherwise PB has been setting his sites too high or is proving as adept with his signings as he has often been with his substitutions! I can remember it being bad before but surely NEVER THIS BAD? How many of the eleven points we've already dropped this season could have been avoided, if we'd had a full squad at the start of August? How important could those lost points be when we arrive at the end of the season???
OK..........rant over.........I feel better for that!

Its based on a spankingly good partnership i understand between Ron, Phil, Bob ( Chief Scout ) and Horton ( Director of something or other)
Its been tough, unbelievably so, especially for Port Vale bringing in 15 ( 10 Foreign players 4 from the Championship and one from the Premier league. They are in the play off spots currently. Bradford struggled to bring in 15 and struggle at second in the league, Gillingham snapped up 11 ( 3 from Prem, 5 from Championship, all on LOAN ?play off spot. Fleetwood brought in 13 ( 6 very early on, 4 from above leagues, 3 others bought and 4 from lower leagues. Charltons 9 hAve been impressive, but they can afford to have bought 5 of em!!. Where do all these above sit in the league??

Ban all social media and bring back the days of Ceefax when it was a complete surprise when you signed a random player on deadline day! #GoodOldDays

Peterborough classically different brought in 8 , 5 from lower leagues whereas Swindon signed 8 with 5 from Premier and 3 from Championship. They both are doing quite well

Exactly how I feel. Post of the summer!

So, if I have understood your theory correctly, a team that gets rid of all players come end May and replaces them with all new signings (say 20+) in July would now be at the top of the league (not that the table counts for anything this early in the season).

Not quite sure that there isn't a small problem with that approach ..................................

Simpson and Cox both absent from Orient. Rumors on their forum is that they are both off to Swindon. Would be slightly disappointing if we miss out on Simpson to Swindon. Especially after how long the transfer saga has dragged on for!

We've signed by my count at least eight players. Maybe more? Some of you make it sound like we've not done any business when actually we've bought almost a whole team.

Jay Simpson was also a miss from the squad this evening and has previously missed two league games against Grimsby and Mansfield after he ruled himself out with a back injury.

“Jay’s back is getting better, he has seen a specialist today and hopefully he will be able to kick on with more running in the next few days.”

When 14 leave we still need to get more in.

Not everyone who left needed replacing but either way the narrative is that we haven't signed anyone and have been left trailing behind teams who have signed more players when actually most of the teams mentioned have signed as many players as we have.

I think a lot of the issue is not that we haven't signed anyone, but that some of the players that have been brought in have not improved the squad. It's early to say, but it's hard to see Oxley, McGlashan, King or Sokolik as anything other than fringe players based on their performances so far.

Anyway, let's see if we can do some business today. The time to criticise is when the window is shut, and there could be an awful lot going on for Football League clubs today.

Indeed its more about quality than quantity. None of Browns signings have made a really positive impact, other than perhaps Ranger in his short cameo. Most of the signings were out of favour at their previous clubs for a reason as has been shown. We have 3 right backs (4 if you include Leonard who can play there) yet no real enforcer in midfield or a Payne-like player who can carry the ball forwards.
