I can understand the current climate, however other clubs are signing players we are not at the moment. It's the same for every club and we are not unique.
.

I'm pretty sure we could sign five players today if we really wanted just anyone. There's plenty of unemployed players and **** Premier League youth players who no one else wants if you just want to fill the bench with players who might not be good enough.

Phil Brown is in talks with 6 players this week. Two Premier League centre backs, and a Championship defender. He's also made offers for three strikers, two of which are in the Premier League.
So he is trying. It seems that clubs, players and agents are leaving it late so as to get the best deal.

Are there any bids in for the attacking midfielder we were interested in still or are there other targets?

Also..
If the PL side loans them out its likely to be a season long loan. They will early on loan out youngsters who have no chance under any circumstance of getting near the first team. If you are after the better players they may be 4,5 or 6th choice and the PL club will decide very late on whether to let them go out based on what they themselves bring in, let go or have in the way of unexpected injuries before the end of the window. So for PL loanees the better ones are actually more likely to be last minute due to the new loan rules.

In the case of Simpson for example its a case of Orient dreaming that someone is going to give the 400k and they not have to contribute to his wages- it may take to about 4pm on transfer day for it to dawn on them it aint happening- their rid is by then we are sorted, and they are stuck with a hugely expensive want out player who will not score many and have lots of bad back between now and January..

As has been said could be for once a pretty busy window

I'm informed that we will be signing a forward today. I can't say it's reliable as I heard it in my hairdressers, but it did come from one of the club directors this morning so it may well happen. I don't have a name I'm afraid. I figure if my hairdresser knows so can you lot.

Is it someone from Barnet?

Was it a [SUB]pb[/SUB]dream you had?

Absolutely, I would prefer we did not sign anyone right now (and keep the budget available) if the players are not good enough to get into the first XI .......... who knows what might turn up later in the season.
