Can't make Boxing Day games, unless they move it to 12pm or 1pm at a push. Gutted. Rest of the fixtures are great, nice seaside weekend to open up as well, although a shame it wasn't Blackpool rather than a suburb of Blackpool.

Same here, can't make boxing day games. Like you, if it gets moved to an earlier time, i may be able to make it.

First game of the season is perfect, I leave the Lake District, Grasmere to be exact, that day so should I make Fleetwood!

10am would be preferable. Then I could go to the game and still make it to my wife's uncle's

Sounds like someone who probably plays golf with Steve Tilson, Matt Lockwood and Ray Parlour and heard from a little birdie that we're definitely signing Freddy Eastwood for a 3rd time.

Mate of mine has just pointed out that on 15th August, Notts County are playing local rivals, Mansfield Town, at home on the same day as Nottingham Forest are at home! .. Now that's clever!

That's because there is an Ashes Test match at Trent Bridge on the opening week of the football season.

The fixture rules state that every club must be scheduled one home and one away fixture in their first two games.

One of the two Nottingham sides will have to play their opening home game on either the Friday or Sunday.

Every day is a school day here at SZ. Good knowledge Lord Football

I was lucky enough to be in lake district a few years back when we were playing Carlisle.

Lost 2-1 but saw Dougie Freedmans first goal for us.

Not so lucky this year as on hols in Cornwall Sat 5th Sept for a week so miss two home matches. Gutted:sad:

I don't get your point. The test match will be over by Saturday lunchtime.

Looking at the fixture list, you begin to realise what a step up this season is going to be. There are certainly no easy games! Important we make a solid start I feel and make the most of the decent home games we have got in August and September.

Its the north of England in August. It will be raining......

This is the truest thing i've read in a while

It always rains

Just had a thought

With our last game being Your lot at Gigg the weather SHOULD be ok this time so no 6 minute shower of S***:darkcloud:

Look, it's Pancake's birthday and he's posting on here. He must love us! Someone give him the Internet bumps and a yellow scarf (though not mine you mofos)!

Superb, all the Northern away games are on Saturdays when I am not working by the looks of it up until Christmas apart from Coventry which I have already swapped.

In 12 years (well at least 12 years, including this year, haven't checked beyond 2004!) we have not travelled over 100 miles to an away game on Boxing Day. In that time, we have been at home 4 times and away 8 times.

2015 - Col Ewe (A)
2014 - Cambridge (A)
2013 - AFC Wimbledon (A)
2012 - Daggers (A)
2011 - Aldershot (A - abandoned at half time)
2010 - Barnet (H - postponed I think?)
2009 - Col Ewe (H)
2008 - Northampton (H)
2007 - Gillingham (A)
2006 - Norwich (A)
2005 - MK Dons (H)
2004 - Wycombe (A)

Have to say I am not surprised that we are away to Col Ewe on Boxing Day, if ever there was a more predictable date for a fixture, it was that one! Wouldn't be surprised to see both fixtures home and away vs Col Ewe moved to a 1pm KO either.....

I remember Belgrave and Bramble destroying Rushden in the second half to win 4-2 after we were 2-0 down at HT. That was on a Boxing Day I think

Excellent - can you bring a job lot of Gingerbread down with you....The Grasmere Gingerbread shop does the best Gingerbread in the world by far.

Is it me or does League One have loads of moribund inaccessible, sorry, costly trips? Fleetwood, Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Rochdale etc spring to mind.
Sure we resume against that bunch from north Essex, and yeah, it's a higher division, but Cambridge, Barnet, Orient, Luton, Dagenham, Wycombe, Crawley, and Oxford would see me at a lot more away games.

Col uwe vs southend utd isnt boxing day 26th is a normal saturday due to fact dont have bank holidays on a weekend so we will be at home boxing day as boxing day is 28th december this year
