In 12 years (well at least 12 years, including this year, haven't checked beyond 2004!) we have not travelled over 100 miles to an away game on Boxing Day. In that time, we have been at home 4 times and away 8 times.

2015 - Col Ewe (A)
2014 - Cambridge (A)
2013 - AFC Wimbledon (A)
2012 - Daggers (A)
2011 - Aldershot (A - abandoned at half time)
2010 - Barnet (H - postponed I think?)
2009 - Col Ewe (H)
2008 - Northampton (H)
2007 - Gillingham (A)
2006 - Norwich (A)
2005 - MK Dons (H)
2004 - Wycombe (A)

Have to say I am not surprised that we are away to Col Ewe on Boxing Day, if ever there was a more predictable date for a fixture, it was that one! Wouldn't be surprised to see both fixtures home and away vs Col Ewe moved to a 1pm KO either.....

Yes lots of long northern trips in this division now, it is going to be tough and expensive! It has been calculated that Colchester fans have the longest mileage in the division to travel to the away games this season you guys can't be too far behind.

Edit..

Just checked what our local paper reported and you are more than a couple of thousand miles off us in terms of travel (Who knows if it is correct!) but here is the article.

http://www.gazette-news.co.uk/sport..._travel_more_than_10_000_miles_to_away_games/

EEErrr that article was dated August 2014, so things will have changed for this season.

When I ran the "other place that has now closed down" we got a nice email each August from a company called Datacom basically threatening us with legal action if fixtures appeared on our site. We were left with the impression that despite us being a non money making organisation they'd have no qualms about taking us to court and squeezing some cash from us.

Anyone remember when football really was the people's game?

Surely they can only sue you for what you're worth. If you're not worth anything they won't get anything.

I really like the look of these fixtures - couldn't get to Essex for the opening week so I'm delighted we're not home until the second Saturday :) Nice early trip to Coventry, which is the fixture I was really looking forward to, three home games and Col U away over Christmas and a number of decent looking away weekends in the second half of the season (Rochdale, Blackpool, Walsall, Wigan).

Am I the only one who found themselves looking at League Two first before remembering we'd gone up?

Ha ha old habits die hard Beefy!

Boxing day is a bone of contention in my house.

Col u away on a boxing day will kill the away numbers as a fair few won't be able to go due to family commitments.

On the plus side I was going to buy a season card so I could almost guarantee an away ticket but I'm sure they will make general sale now.

Can't make Boxing Day games, unless they move it to 12pm or 1pm at a push. Gutted. Rest of the fixtures are great, nice seaside weekend to open up as well, although a shame it wasn't Blackpool rather than a suburb of Blackpool.

Hmm. Like others, Boxing Day for the Col Ewe game is not ideal. Haven't been to a Boxing Day game since getting together with my wife, that's always the day we have a big family get-together.

Coventry away the same day as my annual Wembley trip for the RL Challenge Cup Final. Bugger.

Big circle in the diary for Sheffield United in November though. Looking forward to that one.

I would think it is almost certain to be moved to a 12.30 or 1pm kick off Jai the Police won't want fans arriving too early and hanging about the town.

Funny thing is, we used to always be at home on Boxing Day, it seemed.

Especially in the 80's/90's.

Remember a particularly memorable 4-2 win over Charlton!
